Situation Friendly Forces

06 December

Nigerian forces supported by the CJTF and volunteers have begun searching for the 39 girls abducted from BAM BURATAI, BIU LGA, BORNO State

07 December

The Victims Support fund provided N15m worth of drugs, food and equipment to hospitals in DAMATURU, YOBE State

Combined Guards Brigade, police and other security agency patrols are being conducted in the FCT

President BUHARI met with Beninois President Boni YAYI and repeated his promise to contribute 800 soldiers to the MNJTF

08 December

Elements of 27 TF Bde engaged enemy gunmen in the vicinity of BUNI YADI, GUJBA LGA, YOBE State killing 8 enemy, capturing 1 x Toyota Hilux, 2 x boxes of 7.62mm and IED components (including what looks like a pressure plate, det cords, an artillery shell and more)

The Federal High Court, ABUJA, FCT adjourned the trial of former NSA Col Sambo DASUKI (rtd) till 20 January 2016

Minister of the Interior Abdulrahman DAMBAZAU stated that 5,000 NSCDC personnel will be deployed to the North East whilst he was visiting NSCDC HQ in ABUJA, FCT

DHQ states that Nigerian forces intercepted gunmen fleeing from SAMBISA Forest in PULKA, GWOZA LGA, BORNO State killing several and capturing 1, as well as 1 x PKM, hand grenades, several 23mm empty cases

A Joint Op Yaki/ NPF SAMINAKA Division, patrol conducted an operation in JAMA’ARIYYA Village, LERE LGA, KADUNA State in which 2 suspected cattle rustlers were killed and 232 cows recovered. Also captured was a locally made firearm, 3 x military type uniforms, 12 x 9mm rounds

09 December

Nigerian forces cleared FURKATI Village GEIDAM LGA, YOBE State, 4 x AK47s, 1 x PKM machine gun barrel, 4 x G3 magazines, an unspecified quantity of 7.62mm ammunition, empty mortar bombs and a bandoleer were captured and 210 captives from EJILIJE, BULAGAIJE LARI, BULAGAIJE ADAMDE and AJIRI Villages rescued, from where they had been allegedly

10 December

The Chinese Ambassador Gu XIAOJIE visited the CDS Gen Gabriel OLONISAKIN at DHQ, ABUJA, FCT stating that CHINA was ready to partner with NIGERIA in combatting Boko Haram and called for stronger ties in intelligence gathering and sharing as well as training.

The CAS AVM Sadique ABUBAKAR hosted the ECOMOG Veterans Retreat in YOLA, ADAMAWA State, where veterans of the ECOMOG Campaigns engaged in a knowledge exchange with serving NAF officers.

The Fact finding committee investigating the November BAM BURATAI abductions stated that 6 people from the same family were abducted, 2 wives of Mohammed Pindar PIDIGUM and 4 of his children.

12 December

Elements of the Shia Islamic Movement of NIGERIA (IMN) allegedly blocked SOKOTO Road, PZ Area, ZARIA, KADUNA State barring the route of the COAS Gen TY BURATAI as he arrived from DUTSE, JIGAWA State went to visit the emir of ZAZZAU and was to review the Recruit pass out parade of the Nigerian Army Depot, ZARIA. Several hundred IMN members reportedly blocked the road with barricades, burning tyres and allegedly began stoning the convoy after a 30 minute warning, soldiers fired warning shots and claim they received fire from the crowd. IMN members dispute the allegation claiming they were engaging in the annual Maulad flag changing ceremony at their HUSSAINIYYAH Complex to mark the beginning of the month of Rabiul Auwal in the Islamic Calendar and that soldiers opened fire after the convoy had passed. 20 people were reportedly killed in the original shooting. Around 6.30pm troops began to surround the HUSSAINIYYAH Complex

Gunmen attacked TAKULASHI Village, DAMBOA LGA, BORNO State stealing over 200 cows

06 December

Gunmen attacked TAKULASHI Village, DAMBOA LGA, BORNO State around 6.00am with small arms stealing foodstuffs, 4 vehicles and burning the village and 4 other vehicles they were unable to steal.

Clashes between Fulani herdsmen and Igede youths in OJU LGA, BENUE State after villagers reportedly barred herdsmen from entering the village resulted in 6 killed.

10 December

Gunmen ambushed a logistics convoy in the vicinity of BOKOS, BORNO State along the BAMA-NGURUSOYE road killing at least 1 soldier and 1 vigilante, and destroying at least 1 truck. 6 x burnt AK47s were recovered as well. The Army is yet to state how many were, killed, wounded or missing in the incident

Gunmen on foot and bicycles attacked KAMUYA Village, BIU LGA, BORNO State around 10.30pm killing 14 people, wounding 11, burning the village and abducting an unknown number of young people.

12 December

Gunmen abducted the Hosea AZI, Chairman of the Transition Committee for JOS EAST LGA, PLATEAU State in the evening along MIANGO Road, near KUFANG, JOS SOUTH LGA. The getaway vehicle had a traffic accident in the vicinity of GARAKU near KEFFI, KEFFI LGA, NASARAWA State resulting in the death of AZI and 4 suspects. 2 other suspects were injured. AZI had been sworn in that day after the previous Chairman was removed

Gunmen attacked DURE, GWOZA LGA, BORNO State, killing 4 people, burning millet stores and stealing sorghum and livestock

Camerounian authorities have banned women from markets in MORA, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region, stating they have intelligence that brainwashed female former captives were attempting to infiltrate to launch suicide attacks

06 December

Gunmen attacked GAKARA, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region killing 2 people and abducted one other

A Camerounian MJNTF vehicle detonated an IED between WAMBACHE and LIMANI, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region wounding 4

Elements of 42eme BIM ambushed several gunmen in BONDERI, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region, killing 6 enemy

08 December

NIGER Republic is to transfer 457 suspected Boko Haram prisoners who claim to be Nigerian held in NIAMEY, KOLLO, DIFFA and KOUTOUKALE to NIGERIA. A total of 637 prisoners in this category are being held

US Army media reports that the US Regionally Allocated Forces training mission in AGADEZ, NIGER Republic, is provided by the US Army 92nd Military Police Battalion from Fort Leonard Wood, Montana, USA

09 December

The US Ambassador to CAMEROUN Michael HOZA presented at least 4 x Ford Rangers, 18 x Toyota Hilux, 7x 1,500-3,000 litre water tankers, 6x 30KVA generators, fuel tankers, trailers, diggers and other equipment to Col Jean Jacques FOUDA and Camerounian Defence Minister Joseph Beti ASSOMO in YAOUNDE, CAMEROUN

Gunmen slit the throat of a man in his fields in MADA Village, LOGONE ET CHARI Department, EXTREME NORD Region, off Nationale 1 road

11 December

1 x male PBSIED detonated in KOLOFATA, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region around 6.15am killing 8 and wounding 21 people, a second PBSIED failed to detonate

Gunmen abducted 2 women and 4 children from ORAWIDE Village near KOLOFATA, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region

The last of the Chadian contingent in CAMEROUN returned to CHAD, where they were received by Chadian President Idriss DEBY in N’DJAMENA

12 December

Gunmen ambushed a Camerounian Army convoy between LIMANI and WAMBACHE with IEDs and small arms, striking a vehicle with an IED, one enemy was killed
