A military vehicle on a friendly patrol on MAIDUGURI- DAMBOA Road detonated an IED killing 2 soldiers
The NAF commenced Op Ruwan Wata 3 in Northern BORNO and the SAMBISA Forest area, ISR having previously identified KOLARAM, 37km east of MONGUNO to be an active enemy launch point, 2 x NAF Attack helicopters conducted a pre dawn raid followed by 4 x Fighter Ground Attack (FGA) aircraft. Several structures were destroyed and burnt. In a follow up air strike an NAF helicopter and FGA struck a settlement to the south east of KOLARAM destroying several structures. Enemy were detected retreating north to JUBILARAM, 38km north east of MONGUNO, 4 x NAF FGA conducted air strikes on the settlement
Gunmen mounted in 8 x pick up trucks and several motorcycles attacked friendly forces in MAINOK, KAGA LGA, BORNO State around 6.00pm, approaching via the bush from the direction of BUNI YADI, GUJBA LGA, YOBE State. They were defeated after an hour long firefight and friendly reinforcements arrived, losing 14 enemy killed and 2 x pick up trucks captured., as they were pursued to ZARI Village, MOBBAR LGA. Two civilians were injured. Media reports state that the attackers crossed several main roads but did not molest civilians, media reports also claim that 6 soldiers were killed and 9 wounded

Brigadier General Gbenga Olusegun ADESINA presiding over a General Courts Martial sitting in MAIDUGURI, BORNO State sentenced a Lance Corporal John GODWIN to Death for the murder of 5 rescued hostages in YAMTEKE, GWOZA LGA, BORNO State. Sergeant Innocent OTOTO was given a life sentence for manslaughter for the torture and murder of a 13 year old boy he claimed had stolen his phone in ZAMANBARI District. Lance Corporal OSAGE and Private ONWE were sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for manslaughter and illegal possession of firearms.
The Army stated that troops deployed on Op Lafiya Dole had been on the offensive for the past 2 weeks in the Lake Chad Islands with coordinated air and artillery support, killing several insurgents and capturing 167. In the past 2 months troops had also conducted long range patrols and ambushes in and around suspected enemy hideouts in SAADA and JUWEI in Northern BORNO State, detaining 53 suspected enemy as well as taking the surrender of 15 suspected enemy who had wearied of the conflict
Gunmen ambushed a UN World Food Programme Convoy heading to LOGOMANI in the vicinity of MUSUNI Village on the DIKWA-NGALA Trans Sahara Highway, 35 km south west of NGALA, NGALA LGA, BORNO State killing 4 drivers and 2 others, abducting 3 and stealing several trucks. 6 enemy were killed and 3 x AK 47, 3 x locally improvised weapons, 4 x magazines and a 7.62mm belt were captured

Youth Leader and aide to Senator Shehu SANI, Bashir AHMED who was abducted in TUDUN WADA, KADUNA, KADUNA State on Friday 8 December was freed in KADUNA State. It is unclear if a ransom was paid for his release
NDLEA JIGAWA State Command announced that they had arrested 6 suspected drug dealers and seized 1,000.64Kg of various drugs between 9 and 11 December. 2 suspects were arrested on KANO- GUMEL Road with cannabis and 4 in GURI, DUTSE and HADEJIA LGAs with 900g of Tramadol

5 abductees consisting of former Minister of Sports and current PLATEAU State PDP Chairman Damishi SANGO, his son and 3 others were released.
A farmer killed a Fulani herdsman he accused of destroying his crops in MAI ZAGGA Village, BAGUDO LGA, KEBBI State. The State Governor BAGUDU intervened to stop a reprisal, paying the slain man’s family compensation

Elements of the NPF attempted to dislodge illegal miners in MAYO SINE, MAMBILLA, SARDAUNA LGA, TARABA State who were occupying a concession of a mining company following a 48 hour eviction notice. The miners refused to disperse and attacked the police who opened fire killing up to 10.
The NPF in BENUE State arrested 35 suspected members of the Black Axe Confraternity. 26 of whom were detained whilst travelling from OGBADIGBO to MAKURDI and 9 who were detained in LESSEL, USHONGO LGA. Apparently the intent was to create havoc in the NORTH BANK Area in MAKURDI
A clash in OGOBIA Village, UGBOJU District, OTURKPO LGA, BENUE State resulted in 4 people killed. The origins of the violence appear to be an apparent retaliation for an incident in August 2017 between two brothers who are members of different political parties that resulted in 4 deaths
