Situation North East (Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States)

21 December Suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked BILACHI Village, FUFORE LGA, ADAMAWA State at night killing one person, wounding one other, displacing others and burning the village

26 November

Suspected nomadic gunmen allegedly shot and killed a man on his farm in SHAFORON NUMAN LGA, ADAMAWA State, his brother was also allegedly shot and killed as he tried to rescue him

Residents of KIKAN, KWODOMTI, SHAFARAN and KETWUL, NUMAN LGA, ADAMAWA State have reportedly fled in anticipation of a revenge attack from Fulani herdsmen

28 November

NAF Beechcraft 350i ISR platforms identifed armed suspected Boko Haram gunmen in a building in GOBARA, 15km from GWOZA, GWOZA LGA, BORNO State, it was engaged by Alphajet and F 7Ni with bombs and destroyed

Elements of 3 Bn, 22 Bde 22 Mobile Strike Team supported by CJTF Vigilantes cleared suspected enemy positions in KALA, JAWARA, MADA, MIKA, GAKULBA and KUTILAZ (SANGA), KALA BALGE LGA, BORNO State to the north of SAMBISA Forest. The enemy reportedly spotted friendly forces from an OP at SANGA and withdrew into the AMCHADA Forest, own troops pursued and engaged the enemy killing 4 after a firefight and capturing one who claimed to be the Amir of CHAWA. 212 civilians were rescued

Gunmen attacked HUMBLI Village, MADAGALI LGA, ADAMAWA State

29 November

Gunmen attacked WANU Village, MADAGALI LGA, ADAMAWA State, 3km from GULAK around 9.30pm killing up to 5 people and wounding several others. The gunmen who reportedly emerged from the WAGA CHAKAWA Forest on foot, stole livestock and food stuffs and then burned the village.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs stated that about 4,000 refugees had returned from NIGER Republic in October, with 1,470 registering at GWOZA, 498 in KUKAWA, 374 in NGALA and 250 in DIKWA

Gunmen attacked WANU Village, MADAGALI LGA, 3 km from GULAK, ADAMAWA State, arfound 9.30pm killing 2 people, stealing livestock and foodstuffs and burning houses

30 November

Gunmen mounted in an APC and armed vehicles attacked 22 Bde positions in GAJIBO Village, DIKWA LGA, BORNO State around 5.45pm, overrunning the base killing 1 soldier and wounding 3. The enemy stole weapons and ammunition after being pushed out in a counter attack. 3 x AK47s were captured

01 December

MOPOL raided a Fulani settlement in DOWAYA, NUMAN LGA, ADAMAWA State after receiving reports of a large number of people concentrating. At least 6 MOPOL were reported killed attempting to effect arrests. Elements of 23 Armoured Bde cordoned off the village and using small arms and RPGs recovered the bodies of the fallen policemen. The Fulani claim that they had relocated from SHAFARAN, SHAWAL, GUMARA, KIKAM and KADAMTI after the previous weeks massacre and were mourning their dead. The military claim the villages had been evacuated of women and children and up to 16 persons with AK 47s were sighted.

The BORNO State Governor has proposed a new security strategy in BORNO State consisting of 5 protected urban centres surrounded by a 3 km security belt. BAMA, BAMA LGA has been chosed as a pilot scheme

02 December

2 suspected female PBIEDs infiltrated BIU, BIU LGA, BORNO State around11.40am during a food distribution exercise by aid workers, 1 detonated in the Main Market and the other just outside the market square in BIU, killing themselves and 13 others and wounding 53

Situation North West (Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States)

28 November

Elements of the NPFs Op Absolute Sanity engaged suspected cattle rustlers in the KAGARKO Forest, KAGARKO LGA, KADUNA State around 2.00am, killing 2 of them and recovering 413 cows and 50 sheep and 1 x AK-47. The recovered livestock were taken to KATARI Town

30 November

396 NAF Regiment airmen and women and 18 NAF Regiment officers completed a Special Forces course run by an Israeli PMC

01 December

Members of IMN held their annual procession to commemorate the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday in KADUNA, KADUNA State from LEVENTIS Roundabout along AHMADU BELLO Way and KANO Road. Police intercepted them on LAGOS Street and dispersed the crowd with teargas and live rounds

Situation North Centre (Abuja FCT, Bauchi, Benue, Gombe, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau, Taraba States)

26 November

The military and vigilantes from the Fulani Volunteer Group arrested 29 suspected cattle rustlers in YAKILA, RAFI LGA, NIGER State, recovering over 1,000 cattle and 75 sheep. 2 suspects escaped

28 November

Suspected herdsmen reportedly attacked a farmer in RIYOM LGA, PLATEAU State but were captured by local villagers

29 November

Approximately 50 gunmen mounted in 3 vehicles attacked LAPAI, LAPAI LGA, NIGER State via GULU-LAPAI Road, robbing the local branches of UBA on SULEJA Road near the IBB University Campus and then First Bank on MINNA Road. They then attacked the Police Station. The gunmen used road blocks to isolate the community, stealing 2 vehicles (one of which was subsequently recovered) from bank workers which they used to evacuate their loot. 2 policemen were killed and 4 wounded, whilst 4 bank customers were killed and 12 wounded

Gunmen murdered the Head of Tula Chiefdom in DAKTIBE JALIGO Village, KALTUNGO LGA, GOMBE State and his son early in the morning, the victims wife and other children were injured

30 November

Gunmen attacked a mine in JOL Village, RIYOM LGA, PLATEAU State in the evening wounding 4 miners

Gunmen attempted to murder a PDP politician in the vicinity of AYINGBA and AJIOLO, as he travelled to his village, ABOCHO, DEKINA LGA, KOGI State

30 November

Fulani and Berom miners clashed in RAFIN ACHA Village, RIYOM LGA, PLATEAU State at a mine. The incident was allegedly precipitated by 2 herdsmen taking their cattle into a Berom farm. Despite the herdsmen being arrested, Berom youths had allegedly beaten up some Fulani youths. News of the incident reached the mines where both tribes worked leading to the clash. 5 people were wounded

Gunmen unsuccessfully ambushed travellers in the vicinity of VWAK Village, RIYOM LGA. Several of the gunmen were captured by local villagers and handed over to the police.

01 December

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that a Portuguese citizen Jose MACHADA who was abducted along OBAJANA-KABBA Road in KOGI State on 24 October 2017 had died in captivity

Gunmen ambushed a police patrol at night on AKWANGA- KEFFI Road in the vicinity of MANDARA Village, KOKONA LGA, NASARAWA State near GARAKU

02 December

Suspected herdsmen ambushed a vehicle heading to MAKERA Market in the vicinity of DIYAN Village, RIM District, RIYOM LGA, PLATEAU State killing 11 people and wounding 3

27 November

Gunmen attacked a truck in the morning on Route National 1 between DABANGA and GOUESS, LOGONE ET CHARI Department, EXTREME NORD Region. 1 person was wounded and 3 are missing

28 November

2 suspected Boko Haram fighters from BROUVARE, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region surrendered in KOLOFATA

30 November

Gunmen attacked TCHEBETCHEBE, MAYO MOSKOTA Arrondissement, MAYO TSANAGA Department killing 2 villagers and abducting a young girl
