24 September

A patrol from 3Bn, 22 Bde detected an IED 300m from the IDP Camp in RANN, KALA BALGE LGA, BORNO State, which was safely detonated by EOD

The NPF in ONDO State arrested a suspected Boko Haram member Idris Ibrahim BABAWO (aka IDIKO or NAGADA)- 42 years old from CHINADE, KATAGUM LGA, BAUCHI State and handed him over to 32 Bde, 2 Div at 2.00pm the following day. He is alleged to be Nos 165 on the wanted list

Up to 3,000 IDPs from DALORI IDP Camp marched in protest through MAIDUGURI, BORNO State asking to be allowed to return home. 8 people were arrested as well as the Chairman and Secretary of the BAMA Youth Development Association who went to bail them out

26 September

The Police charged 12 BAMA IDPs from DALORI IDP Camp with criminal conspiracy and inciting disturbances

27 September

A suspected female PBIED detonated in a mosque in DIKWA, DIKWA LGA, BORNO State around 5.00am killing 5 people, a second female PBIED detonated later on in town, when challenged by soldiers, killing only herself

A car carrying 5 people in a convoy from MAIDUGURI to DIKWA, detonated an IED on the MAFA-DIKWA Road in the vicinity of KOIBE Village, BORNO State around 12.00pm killing 2 people and wounding 3 others. A truck detonated another IED 3 minutes later, wounding several of the trucks passengers

Gunmen mounted on trucks and motorcycles attacked GORAM, LINGIS and AJIDARI, GUZAMALA LGA, BORNO State around 3.00pm killing 3 people and then burning up to 150 buildings and looted foodstuffs

28 September

Gunmen mounted on 14 horses attacked MALAMATI Village, GUZAMALA LGA, BORNO State. Elements of 242 Bn, 8 TF Div responded around 3.00pm killing 2, capturing 2 x AK 47, 3 x AK magazines, 1 x HE grenade, 18 x mobile phones, 3 x mini solar panels, soap and detergent, assorted clothing, 8 x horses and 26 x 7.62mm (AK). 2 x soldiers were wounded during follow up pursuit.

29 September

An MST ambushed suspected enemy forces at a crossing point on BANKI Junction- BAMA Road in the vicinity of BOCOBS Village, BAMA LGA, BORNO State killing 1 and wounding others and capturing 3 x bicycles, 5 x jerrycans and 2 x bags of maize.

Gunmen attacked an Army/ NPF outpost in the vicinity of BAMA, BAMA LGA around 6.30pm burning the outpost and a police vehicle down and capturing 1 x AK47. The attack was repelled by elements of 202 Bn, 21 Bde around 7.45pm with 1 x Policeman and female IDP killed and significant casualties inflicted on the enemy

24 September

Elements of 1 Div supported by the DSS arrested 2 suspected arms dealers along FUNTUA-GUSAU Road, ZAMFARA State, in a VW Golf, containing 1,479 x 7.62mm (AK) rounds

Troops on patrol detained 3 suspected armed bandits in GOBIRAWAN CHALI, MARU LGA, ZAMFARA State recovering 1 x AK47 magazine, 40 x 7.62mm (AK) rounds, N45,500.00, 1 x mobile phone and 3 x SIM cards

The Police raided 3 IMN prayer grounds where Ashura rituals were taking place in KADUNA, KUDAN and ZARIA, KADUNA State

Elements of 1Bde, 1 Div arrested suspected cattle rustlers in DALINGEN, RABAH LGA, SOKOTO State.

25 September

Elements of 1 Bde, 1 Div raided a suspected armed bandits camp in KAHIRU Forest, BAKURA LGA, ZAMFARA State, engaging the suspects in a firefight killing one and recovering 50 cattle, 82 goats and 25 sheep

26 September

Gunmen ambushed travellers along JENGEBE-GUSAU Road, GUSAU LGA, ZAMFARA State. Elements of 1 Div on Op Sharan Daji based in MAGAMI, responded, engaging them, killing 1, capturing 1 and wounding others who escaped, they captured 1 x locally made firearm, 1 x mobile phone, 1 x lady’s handbag, 1 x wallet and N20,000.00

Elements of 1 Bde, 1 Div ambushed suspected cattle rustlers on the KURAN MOTA Cattle route, ANKA LGA, ZAMFARA State, recovering 269 cattle and 241 sheep

Elements of 223 Bn, 1 Div supported by the DSS raided a suspected armed bandits camp in DANDUME LGA, KATSINA State recovering 1 x AK 47, 1 x magazine, 1,253 x 7.62mm (AK) rounds and 1 x motorcycle

27 September

The SOKOTO State Government warned IMN against conducting any processions, which were termed unlawful

Gunmen ambushed a vehicle travelling to GUSAU, ZAMFARA State on BIRNIN GWARI- FUNTUA Road in KADUNA State abducting a policeman ACP Emmanuel AGENE and 3 members of his family. The kidnappers reportedly demanded a N50m ransom

The ZAMFARA State Police stated they intercepted a vehicle along and detained a suspected bandit GUSAU- SOKOTO Road seizing 2 x AK-47, with 5 x AK- 47 magazines, 165 x 7.62mm (AK), N68,750.00, an ATM card, 3 x PVCs, military style uniforms and several mobile phones

ZAMFARA State Police stated they intercepted a vehicle along KAURA NAMODA- JIBIYA Road capturing a suspect from BASSA LGA, PLATEAU State with 1 x AK47, 2 x magazines, 20 rounds of ammunition, 1 x pistol with 4 x rounds, 1 x locally made pistol, 8 x mobile phones, N34,685.00, military style uniforms and a stamp from the Cattle Traders Association of NIGERIA, BUKURU LGA, PLATEAU State

30 September

ACP AGENE and his driver were released by his abductors in the vicinity of BIRNIN GWARI Village, BIRNIN GWARI LGA, KADUNA State around 11.00pm. The NPF state the kidnappers fled when a police unit closed on their location This

24 September

Maj Gen Yousef AL HNAITY Commandeer Royal Jordanian Air Force arrived in ABUJA, FCT for a week long working visit.

The Ministry of Justice stated that 2,541 Boko Haram suspects across the country will be arraigned as of 09 October 2017 including 1,670 held in WAWA Barracks, KAINJI, NIGER State and 651 in MAIDUGURI Prison. 220 suspects held in KAINJI were to be released due to lack of evidence and enrolled in a deradicalization programme

25 September

128 NSCDC personnel from Zone H, LOKOJA, KOGI State completed a weapons handling package run by the Army in Chari Magumeri Cantonment

26 September

The NPF paraded 31 suspected kidnappers and armed robbers who allegedly operated along ABUJA-MINNA and ABUJA-KADUNA Roads in DIKKO, SULEJA LGA, NIGER State capturing 4 x AK47, 2 x Beretta 9mm pistols, 2 x locally made pistols, 5 x military style uniforms, 1 x passport, 95 x 7.62mm (AK) rounds, 15 x 9mm rounds, 8 x vehicles, 2 x VW Golfs, 1 x Honda Civic, 2x Sharon Cars, 1 x Toyota Camry, 1 x Mercedes Benz Saloon, 1 x Toyota Corolla, 2 x laptops, 1 x digital camera and 1 x passport. 1 policeman was killed and 5 suspects in the raids that led to their arrest

The NASARAWA State Police Command stated it had arrested a suspect in the fatal armed robbery at a bakery in LAFIA, which cost the life of a Police Sergeant. They stated the subject was tracked through the SIM card of a phone stolen from one of the victims.

A dispute between a farmer and a Fulani herdsman in AMUDU Village, GIZA Development Area, KEANA LGA, NASARAWA State over grazing rights led to both of them being injured. The Fulani retaliated after sending a warning message burning 150 houses around 3.00pm

29 September

Gunmen attacked GYANGYANG Village, GAGDI Ward, KANAM LGA, PLATEAU State, around 2.00am murdered the acting Village Head, Mohammed SULEIMAN

The NSCDC, NIGER State Command stated it had deployed 2,500 personnel to provide security during the Independence Day celebration

30 September

Elements of the STF on Op Safe Haven in PLATEAU State conducted a Show of Force in JOS in conjunction with the NSCDC, NCS, NDLEA and NIS
