17 September

Gunmen attacked KURMIRI Village, TITIWA Ward, MAGUMERI LGA, BORNO State (14km east of MAGUMERI) killing the Chief Imam and 4 others with bladed weapons around 10.30pm. One of the suspected attackers was captured by vigilantes

18 September

2 x male PBIED and 1 x female PBIED attacked MASHEMARI Village, KONDUGA LGA, BORNO State around 10.50am. The attack was initiated by small arms at a farm leading to a stampede of people, amongst whom the first PBIED detonated, the other 2 detonated near the Village Heads house. The attack killed 13 (including the attackers) and wounded up to 28 people.

19 September

3 x suspected PBIEDs detonated amongst a group of people in MASHIMARI, KONDUGA LGA, BORNO State near MANDARI IDP Camp. The first detonated around 11.45am killing up to 15 people and wounding up to 43 others. Another detonated 12 minutes later killing only herself

The NSCDC stated it had deployed 1,500 personnel to BAMA LGA, BORNO State for internal security duties and designated them the Special BAMA Squad

20 September

Gunmen murdered at least 9 farmers working their land in the vicinity of DAIMA, KALA BALGE LGA, BORNO State 3km from RANN around 10.00am with bladed weapons, several others escaped with injuries back to the camp whilst others fled to CAMEROUN

Elements of 7 Bde Garrison detained a suspected Boko Haram informant in DORON BAGA, KUKAWA LGA, BORNO State

22 September

Elements of 202 Bn, conducted 2 ambushes in the vicinity of FERI FERI and TASHAN GOTO, BAMA LGA, BORNO State respectively, engaging enemy fighters at both locations killing 2 and capturing 2 x bicycles and 3 x wheelbarrows. The ambush teams also identified suspected enemy fighters attempting to move round the defensive ditch at SHETIMARI, engaging them and inflicting casualties

23 September

Elements of 201 Bn, 21 Bde conducted a fighting patrol with Mobile Strike Team (MST) 21 along BAMA- AULARI Road identified an EOD around 9.00am on route, which was safely destroyed by an attached EOD Team

Situation North West (Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States)

17 September

Approximately 12 gunmen abducted 7 people from a roadside rest area along the KADUNA-ABUJA Road in KAKAU, CHIKUN LGA, KADUNA State. 3 of the abductees managed to escape as they were being led into the bush

18 September

Gunmen ambushed travellers on the KADUNA-ABUJA Road near KAKAU Toll Gate killing a business man and abducting his wife. They have demanded a N20m ransom for Hajiya YAZID

Approximately 30 gunmen attacked the home of the Head of the Vigilantes Alhaji GHALI in SHIKA, SABON GARI LGA, KADUNA around 1.30am in an apparent attempted abduction of GHALI and his two daughters, NPF responded engaging the suspected kidnappers, resulting in GHALI being fatally wounded and 2 Policemen wounded

1 of the people abducted in KAKAU was released by their abductors for an undisclosed ransom

19 September

Hajia YAZID was released by her abductors. It is unclear if a ransom was paid

21 September

Elements of 233 Bn, 1 Div intercepted an armed group operating in TSAFE TSAFE LGA, ZAMFARA State who had killed an FRSC official, killing 1 and capturing 2 x AK 47, 6 x magazines and 7 x motorcycles

The NPF paraded 14 suspected armed robbers from 2 gangs arrested in hideouts along the ABUJA-KADUNA Road under op Absolute Sanity and displayed 2 x AK 47s, 16 x locally fabricated weapons, 1 x locally made AK 47, assorted ammunition, cutlasses, sticks, charms

Situation North Centre (Abuja FCT, Bauchi, Benue, Gombe, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau, Taraba States)

15 September

Gunmen attacked a Fulani community in YAKPA, SHIRORO LGA, NIGER State leaving 3 children dead and one person wounded. The grandmother of the dead children alleged that an unspecified neighbouring community was responsible

17 September

The Plateau State Government amended the curfew in JOS-BUKURU to 10.00pm to 6.00am

18 September

Gunmen attacked a petrol station in TOR DONGA, KATSINA ALA LGA, BENUE State around 7.00pm killing 2 people and robbing the premises of money and valuables, a military unit close by responded and one soldier was shot and wounded

21 September

A suspected Boko Haram member Mustapha ADIMOYI was remanded in custody in KOTON KARFE Federal Prison Chief by the Magistrates Court LOKOJA, KOGI State on charges of involvement in terrorist activities and illegal possession of firearms. The case was adjourned until October 2017

22 September

Gunmen mounted in a black Toyota Camry attacked the home of the NASARAWA State Internal Revenue Board Chairman and then a Bakery in LAFIA, NASARAWA State around 8.00pm fatally wounding a police man and stealing 2 x AK 47 and N2.5m

2 x PBIEDs detonated in KOSSA, MAYO SAVA Department killing 3 others and wounding 3

Gunmen burnt 109 huts overnight in HIDOUA and BAVAGOLA Villages, MOKOLO Arrondissement, MAYO TSANAGA Department, EXTREME NORD Region

19 September

President BUHARI thanked the Kingdom of JORDAN  for the donation of 200 unspecified Armoured Fighting Vehicles at a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting in NEW YORK, USA. JORDAN also promised the donation of helicopters

20 September

Gunmen attacked SAGME, FOTOKOL Arrondissement, LOGONE ET CHARI Department at night wounding 2 people

Gunmen attacked MAINANKOUA, KOLOFATA Arrondissement, MAYO SAVA Department at night killing 2 people, wounding 2 and abducting several others

The UN signed an agreement with the CJTF to end the use of minors. Approximately 360 under 18s were allegedly serving with the vigilantes

21 September

USAID announced a $550m humanitarian assistance package for YEMEN, SOUTH SUDAN, NIGERIA and SOMALIA

22 September

A suspected PBIED detonated in the vicinity of KOLOFATA around 1.00pm killing only themselves

23 September

The body of a soldier from 41eme BIM was discovered along the ZAMGA-DJIBRILI Road, MAYO TSANAGA Department, EXTREME NORD Region
