04 September

Elements of Mobile Strike Team 21 ambushed suspected enemy forces at a crossing point in the vicinity of FIRGI- BANKI Junction Road, killing and wounding an unspecified number. Troops captured 18 x bicycles, 15 x bags of grain, 17 x jerrycans of grain and 5 x empty jerrycans, 6 x cutlasses, 1 x sword, water bottles and pairs of slippers

Gunmen mounted on motorcycles killed 4 farmers in the vicinity of NGAWO FATO BULAMARI Village, JERE LGA, BORNO State in a drive by shooting, several others are missing after fleeing into the bush

Dr Yusuf Solomon NEHEMIAH, one of the UNIMAID lecturers abducted in the ambush at BORNO YESU wrote on behalf of himself and his fellow captives (Yusuf IBRAHIM and Haruna DASHE) addressed to his wife, expressing concern that there had been no action to release them by the University or Government nor had there been any contacts through the mediums given to the Government by Boko Haram ISWAP

05 September

Gunmen murdered 2 farmers at ALAU LAWANTI, JERE LGA with bladed weapons and abducted 2 others

06 September

Gunmen attacked MALLAN Village, JERE LGA killing 3 people, burning the village, stealing food, livestock and 13 bicycles

Gunmen attacked KESA KURA Village, JERE LGA BORNO State killing 3 people, they then attacked MANJITA burning it down but causing no casualties

07 September

Gunmen attacked BULA BUBA and TAWARMADA Villages, DAMBOA LGA, BORNO State, 5km from DAMBOA Town, killing 17 people

Gunmen attacked rice farms in the vicinity of ADDAMARI, JERE LGA, BORNO State wounding 5 and abducting 3 rice farmers and 5 others from farms in the vicinity of DUSUMAN Village, around 9.00am

The NAF CAS AVM ABUBAKAR stated that an operation named Op Ruwan Wuta had commenced in the North East

NAF Beechcraft ISR aircraft identified structures with Boko Haram flags in ZANARI, BORNO State near Lake CHAD, tasking 1 x F 7Ni and 1 x Alphajet to strike the targets

Gunmen attacked MALLAN Village, around 8.00am killing 2 farmers

08 September

Elements of Defence Company, 27 Bde based in KAMUYA, BIU LGA, BORNO State were informed that 6 people had been abducted by suspected Boko Haram from MANGARI Village, GEIDAM LGA, 20km away. Supported by vigilantes by tracked the suspected kidnappers killing 2, recovering 2 x AK 47s and rescuing the 6 abductees

9 bodies with bound hands were found in the bush around GONGULONG, JERE LGA, and in the vicinity of AZAYA DUSUMAN and ZAMARMARI, JERE LGA, BORNO State

3 x female PBIEDs conducted an attack in the vicinity of the NDLEA Checkpoint along MAIDUGURI-MAFA Road in MUNA Garage, MAIDUGURI, BORNO State around 6.23pm killing 4 and wounding 5 people. The first PBIED allegedly detonated as she came down from a vehicle carrying charcoal wounding 4 passengers in the vehicle and in a following Keke NAPEP, including a 2nd suspected female PBIED, whilst a 3rd suspected PBIED fell into a pit, where she died and her device was made safe by NPF EOD

Gunmen mounted in 2 x pick up trucks attacked an IDP Camp at the International School in the vicinity of NGALA, NGALA LGA, BORNO State with PBIEDs, RPGs and small arms around 8.00pm killing 6 vigilantes and 1 PBIED and wounding several others. The attack was initiated with the RPG and then followed up with sustained small arms fire.

The NSCDC stated it had arrested 30 suspected criminals in YANKATSARI Village, DAWAKIN KUDU LGA, KANO State in possession of cutlasses, swords, knives and clubs following a tip off

03 September

Gunmen abducted the Director of the KADUNA State Ministry of Education and a young mother from his house in MARARABAN RIDO, KADUNA, KADUNA State

 04 September

Gunmen attacked a police post in KETA Village, TSAFE LGA, ZAMFARA State in the afternoon leaving 3 policemen missing

09 September

The DSS announced that it had broken up a planned Boko Haram ISWAP small arms and IED attack on Sallah festivities on targets in KANO, KADUNA, NIGER, BAUCHI, YOBE and BORNO States and ABUJA FCT. The suspected commander Husseini MAI TANGARAN was arrested in KANO on 31 August, his arrest led to the arrest of Abdulkadir Umar MOHAMMED in KANTIN KWARI Market, FAGGE LGA, KANO State on 02 September, another suspect Muhammad ALI was arrested on 03 September in SHEKA, KUMBOTSO LGA, KANO State who is alleged to have been the groups financial courier. On the same day Yahaya Mohammed ABATCHA and Yusuf MOHAMMED were arrested on Top Medical Road, MOBILE Quarters in TUNGA Area of MINNA, NIGER State

Situation North Centre (Abuja FCT, Bauchi, Benue, Gombe, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau, Taraba States)

03 September

Elements of NPF SARS conducted an intelligence led raid on a building in OBEIBA, IHIMA, OKEHI LGA, KOGI State to capture a suspected armed robbery gang leader Lukman ISSAH (aka Commander), killing him and taking away his body and 6 members of his gang. Members of his gang allegedly burnt the Ohi of IHIMAs house and the DPO’s house

08 September

3 suspected Boko Haram members Abdullahi Habib AUDU, Bashiru YAHAYA and Ahmed MOMOH were charged at the Chief Magistrate Court, LOKOJA KOGI State with offences related to the Terrorism Act 2013 and remanded without bail at KOTON KARFE Federal Prison until 28th September. AUDU and YAHAYA are alleged to be Boko Haram IT specialists whilst MOMOH is alleged to be their herbalist. The accused pled Not Guilty

Suspected Fulani gunmen attacked ANCHA, MIANGO Village, BASSA LGA, PLATEAU State early in the morning killing 13 adults and 6 children and wounding 8. The attack was allegedly a reprisal for the abduction and murder of a Fulani boy who was found headless in the village on 03 August

09 September

Suspected Fulani gunmen attacked HUKKE, MIANGO Village, BASSA LGA by infiltrating through farmland but were repelled by the police as they attempted to cross a river separating the farms from the village. 1 x young boy was wounded and crops were burnt.

Gunmen murdered a man with bladed weapons in DOULOU, MORA Arrondissement, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region

05 September

The President of NIGER Republic Muhammad YOUSOUFOU visited President BUHARI for a closed door meeting in DAURA, KATSINA State

Gunmen attacked DZABA, MAYO MOSKOTA Arrondissement, MAYO TSANAGA Department, EXTREME NORD Region at night killing 3 and abducting 8 people and burning a church and 46 huts

06 September

5 people abducted from DZABA, the previous night returned to their village at night. Villagers have begun fleeing to MOSKOTA

07 September

714 DZABA villagers have fled to MOSKOTA since the previous day

09 September

Mark LOWCOCK, the UN OCHA’s new Under Secretary for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator began a 4 day visit to NIGERIA and NIGER Republic
