Gunmen abducted 5 members of a family (3 children and 2 ladies) and their driver after their vehicle broke down near DIKWA, DIKWA LGA, BORNO State whilst part of a military convoy from MAIDUGURI. The driver managed to escape

The DSS arrested Abdulkarim MOHAMMED (aka BABA MAIGIWA) in AJILANI, JERE LGA, BORNO State on suspicion of spying for Boko Haram and passing information to element sin the SAMBISA Forest. 3 other suspects were arrested and 2 x Golf Saloon cars were captured

The NAF has begun to rotate out forces deployed to the North East

The Army announced that combined rocket artillery and NAF air strikes on enemy positions in an unspecified location had killed numerous enemy including several suspected commanders including Abu DUJANA, Man TAHIRU (allegedly Deputy Commander of Boko Harams Hisba), Man CHARI, Mallam Abdullahi ABU SA’AD and Goni BAMANGA

01 September

Gunmen attacked BANKI IDP Camp, BAMA LGA, BORNO State around 12.30am murdering up to 20 refugees who had recently returned from MINAWO Refugee Camp with bladed weapons and wounding 2 others. The gunmen stole food and abducted 4 boys before being detected by vigilantes and repelled by soldiers

An NAF ISR platform identified suspected enemy forces under trees in the vicinity of GARIN MALOMA, SAMBISA Forest. F- 7Ni, Alphajet and L 39 ZA ground attack aircraft were tasked attacking the target with bombs, rockets and cannon fire

02 September

The Army Chief of Training and Operations Maj Gen David AHMADU visited 112 TF Bn, 22 Bde in MAFA, MAFA LGA, BORNO State on behalf of the COAS Lt Gen TY BURATAI, where he stated that almost 3,000 troops have been rotated out of the North East

NSCDC KANO State Command is to deploy 1,500 personnel in the state to safeguard the Sallah Celebrations

The NSCDC has deployed up to 5,000 personnel across KADUNA State

02 September

The KANO State Governor Dr Abdullahi Umar GANDUJE stated that several suspected Boko Haram members who had been arrested in the state prior to the Sallah celebrations had been flown to ABUJA, FCT following tip offs. Unspecified arms, ammunition and communication devices were also reportedly seized

Supporters of former KANO State Governor Rabiu KWANKWASO clashed with supporters of KANO State Governor Abdullahi GANDUJE outside the palace of the Emir of KANO, Muhammadu SANUSI in KANO City. KWANKWASO supporters allege they were attacked by the police with tear gas and by thugs armed with knives and clubs affiliated with Governor GANDUJE and claim over 20 were wounded

KOGI State Police Command arrested 3 suspected kidnappers in OKENE LGA after the VW Golf Station Wagon they were travelling in refused to stop at a checkpoint around 9.00am. Police recovered 1 x Beretta Pistol, 1 x ‘Tiger’ revolver with 12 x rounds of ammunition, 6 x 9mmm rounds, 9 x mobile phones, a box of surgical implements, 1 x laptop, 1 x VW Golf

02 September

Gunmen robbed and fatally wounded a businessman after following him from his shop to his house in NYIMAN, MAKURDI, BENUE State where they stole cash and other valuables

29 August

Gunmen attacked ASHIGHASIYA, LOGONE ET CHARI Department, EXTREME NORD Region at night they were repelled by vigilantes but burnt 14 huts

30 August

UK Foreign Secretary Boris JOHNSON and UK International Development Secretary Priti PATEL visited MAIDUGURI and environs. PATEL announced a £200m, 5 year military training and humanitarian assistance package from the UK to NIGERIA

Gunmen attacked MAGALA KABIR, DARAK Arrondissement, LOGONE ET CHARI Department at night killing the village head and his 3 year old son and wounding 3 others

01 September

Gunmen abducted a woman from IGAWA, MORA Arrondissement, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region at night. They phoned her son demanding food and money as ransom

02 September

2 of the 8 hostages abducted from GAKARA, MAYO SAVA Department on 24 August returned to their village stating they had escaped from an enemy camp in NGOSHE
