Situation North East (Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States)

09 July

The BORNO State Police Command states that it has deployed over 3,000 policemen to MAIDUGURI and other liberated parts of BORNO State

11 July

Elements of 145 Bn, 5 Bde, 8 TF Div conducted clearance operations towards GASHIGAR, ASAGA, BUKARTI and other villages, MOBBAR LGA, BORNO State engaging the enemy in KANAMA Village, ABADAM LGA killing 2 and capturing 2 others as well as 1 x AK 47, 4 x magazines and 4 x motorcycles

3 x PBIEDs attacked vigilante checkpoints in MAIDUGURI, BORNO State. The first detonated around 10.00pm near the Federal Road Safety Corps Office, another about an hour later in JIDDARI POLO, SABON GARI and the final female PBIED detonated at a Vigilante checkpoint ne near the NNPC Mega Station in MOLAI KURA long MAIDUGURI -BIU Road, killing 3. In addition to themselves, 12 CJTF vigilantes were killed and 23 wounded.

Elements of 7 Bde Special Forces, 8 TF Div attacked enemy positions in DAWASHI GARI Village, BORNO State near Lake CHAD killing 4 enemy and capturing their motorcycles

UNICEF donated medical equipment valued at N1.2bn for maternal, new born and child health in ADAMAWA State as part of an EU supported project to strengthen Primary Health Care and Community Resilience for Improved Maternal New born, Child Health and Nutrition Outcomes in ADAMAWA, BAUCHI and KEBBI States. The equipment includes 226 x baby dressing tables, 220 x bed screens, 180 x infusion stands, 226 x microscopes, 300 x delivery kits, 200 x stethoscopes, 300 x surgical kits and 332 x examination tables

3 x PBIEDs infiltrated MOLAI, JERE LGA, BORNO State from the SAMBISA Forest via MAIDUGURI-DAMBOA Road. The first detonated around 10.00pm at a CJTF vigilante checkpoint near the Federal Road Safety Corps Office killing 6 vigilantes, another about an hour later in JIDDARI POLO, SABON GARI and the final female PBIED detonated at a Vigilante checkpoint near the NNPC Mega Station in MOLAI KURA long MAIDUGURI -BIU Road, killing 3. In addition to the PBIEDs, 7 villagers and 12 CJTF vigilantes were killed and 23 wounded.

AFP viewed an alleged Boko Haram video featuring the murder of 8 innocent civilians at an unknown location for alleged apostasy, as well as a person murdered by stoning for alleged adultery as well as beheadings for alleged drug dealing, amputations for alleged theft and flogging for allegedly drinking alcohol

15 July

 

An explosion in the vicinity of MUNI DALTI, JERE LGA, BORNO State around 4.45pm killing a 10 year old cattle herder and wounded his 8 year old brother after they brought their cattle back from grazing in the forest in the vicinity of BARAM and TAMSONGAMDU Villages, MAFA LGA. Boko Haram elements had allegedly strapped an IED to the victim and sent him home, when he got back he was removing the device before it detonated

The BORNO State Radio Television Company BrTV has boosted the broadcast capacity of their 93.5FM Radio Station from 3 Kilowatts to 20 kilowatts and is installing a 60kw Transmitter for AM transmissions

Situation North West (Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States)

10 July

Gunmen mounting an illegal roadblock on KANO-ZARIA Road in the vicinity of GARUN MALAM, GARUN MALAM LGA, KANO State were engaged by a police patrol around 9.00pm who killed 2 gunmen recovering 1 x locally fabricated long barrelled firearm, 1 x revolver, 12 x rounds of ammunition, charms and a torch

12 July

KANO State Police Command paraded 13 suspected armed robbers arrested in GERZAWA LGA

14 July

A joint NIGERIA/ NIGER Republic counter narcotic Operation in SOKOTO State; Op Ninibo under the auspices of Interpol and ECOWAS led to the arrest of 6 people and the seizure of 67.1kg of Diezapam, 22.6kg of Tramadol, 794kg of Codeine and 30kg of cannabis

14 July

The IGP of Police Ibrahim IDRIS announced the establishment of a new divisional police station in RIJANNA along the KADUNA-ABUJA Road, during a visit to the village as part of a tour of KACHIA and KAGARKO LGAs, KADUNA State

298 NAF Regiment Airmen and officers passed out from the NAF Regiment Training Centre, KADUNA State, after completing training facilitated by 66 men from the UK RAF Regiment. 235 completed the Basic Regiment Airmen Course and Force Protection in Complex Air Ground Environment Course at. The CAS who oversaw the Pass Out parade also stated that 5 x Super Mushak trainers had been received from PAKISTAN.

Gunmen attacked TSONHO DAMISHI Village, CHIKUN LGA, KADUNA State destroying houses in 3 settlements

15 July

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association stated at a Press Conference that youths from KADARA and GWARI Villages, KAJURU LGA had attacked nomadic settlements in KAJURU LGA, after kidnappers raided villages in the area abducting Fulani, Gbagyi and Adara peoples

Situation North Centre (Abuja FCT, Bauchi, Benue, Gombe, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau, Taraba States)

10 July

The Minister of Defence Mansur DAN ALI conducted the ground breaking ceremony for the new Muhammadu BUHARI Cantonment, GIRI along Airport Road, ABUJA, FCT

The national Chairman and Secretary of the Fulani Socio cultural group, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Alhaji Bello BODEJO and Alhassan SALEH claimed that the MAMBILA Plateau crisis had claimed 250 lives and 4,000 livestock with 10,000 families displaced

11 July

The Malian COAS Col, Babi ABDULRAHMAN visited the COAS Lt Gen TY BURATAI at Army HQ, ABUJA, FCT in which they discussed potential links between Boko Haram and Malian terrorists

13 July

The Police paraded 7 suspected armed robbers operating along KADUNA- ABUJA Road in Force HQ, ABUJA FCT, who were arrested on the 8th and 9th July, along with 1 x AK 47, 2 x locally made pistols, 30 x rounds of ammunition, 1 x magazine, 2 x military style uniforms, 3 x cutlasses and assorted charms.

Gunmen attempted to ambush the vehicle of the Permanent Secretary of the OSUN State Bureau of General Services along OKENE-ABUJA Road, KOGI State, shooting at the vehicle and fatally wounding her in the process.

14 July

Gunmen abducted a lawyer (and niece to the KOGI State Chief Judge) Rabi Ozavize OVOSI and his driver Nasiru AJANAH at ITAPE Junction, between OSARA and MACK Farm OKEHI LGA, KOGI State as they drove from OKENE to LOKOJA

Situation External Forces

11 July

Up to 3 x gunmen dressed in Nigerian Army style uniforms abducted 5 people from AMCHIDE, KOLOFATA Arronidissement, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region and their flock of 50 goats and 40 sheep and took them to the NIGERIA border

12 July

2 x female PBIED attacked WAZA, LOGONE ET CHARI Department. The first detonated near a truck park, killing herself and 14 others and wounding 43, the other one was shot as she approached the BIR encampment and her device made safe

14 July

The EU and FRANCE have pledged €30m and €8m respectively to rebuild BORNO, YOBE and ADAMAWA States, according to the French Ambassador at a Bastille Day Reception in ABUJA
