Elements of 27 TF Bde in BUNI GARI, GUJBA LGA, YOBE State arrested a 20 years old suspected Boko Haram member whilst on perimeter patrol. The suspect was reportedly under the influence of drugs

A male PBIED infiltrated University of MAIDUGURI (UNIMAID) around 10.20pm, detonating and killed 1 x security guard and wounding 2 others.

4 x female PBIEDs attacked ZANNARI Community, GWANGE, JERE LGA, BORNO State around 11.30pm. 2 entered 2 residential buildings, detonating, killing 8 people and wounding 11. The third detonated killing only herself. The 4th detonated but was fatally wounded, later dying in custody

26 June

2 x female PBIEDs detonates at UNIMAID around 4.20am killing only themselves

Boko Haram has released a 17 minute video showing footage from the ambush of the Police/ Army convoy in DAMBOA in which he claimed to have abducted several female police officers who would become their ‘slaves’. The video featured footage purportedly if the ambush and captured vehicles and a still of some women. ‘SHEKAU’ also denounced some Islamic clerics

27 June

1 x male PBIED and 4 x females were killed when the males device prematurely detonated as they approached friendly trenches in MAMMANTI Ward, MOLAI, JERE LGA, BORNO State

887 refugees returned in 6 x NEMA buses from KOLOFATA, CAMEROUN to BAKI. Consisting of 233 women, 187 men, 236 girls and 231 boys they are being sustained by UNHCR protected by 152 BN

28 June

Elements of 29 TF Bde discovered an IED while patrolling along WAJIRO-MALLAM KURAMTI cattle route. It was safely removed and detonated by EOD

Elements of 151 Bn, 21 Bde patrolling to MAYANTI Village, BORNO State were ambushed around 3.30pm, upon clearing the ambush and pursuing the bush, troops recovered 1 x 60mm mortar bomb, 13 x 7.62mm (AK) and 51 x 7.62mm (NATO)

The security forces identified 9 Boko Haram suspects and 100 suspected accomplices at BANKI, BAMA LGA, BORNO State amongst a group of 920 refugees returning from MAROUA, CAMEROUN

The NPF responded to the Boko Haram video confirming that a female Police Inspector and a Corporal were missing from the DAMBOA Ambush

Elements of 151 Bn conducting a fighting patrol on the Lt Col Abu ALI Range, SAMBISA Forest, BAMA LGA, BORNO State discovered a freshly dug hole for an IED, an area search turned up 1 x cylinder main charge, 1 x pressure plate and 1 x battery pack consisting of 3 x 9v batteries. The charge was destroyed in a controlled detonation

Elements of 82 TF Bn patrolled along NGOSHE -PULKA axis, GWOZA LGA, BORNO State discovered 3 x buried IEDs, which were destroyed in situ by EOD

Elements of 159 Bn arrested a suspected Boko Haram collaborator/ informant Abubakar AHMED (23 years old) in GARIN GADA, and Ali MAINA (45 years old) in KANAMMA, YUNUSARI LGA, YOBE State. AHMED was arrested allegedly trying to collect relief materials for Boko Haram. The latter was allegedly en route to GAMARI, NIGER Republic

Gunmen mounted on motorcycles attacked BODERI, DAMBOA LGA, BORNO State killing 6 men and wounding several others

29 June

Elements of 3Bn, 22 Bde ambushed enemy forces along GAMBORU-MUSSINI-LOGOMANI Axis, NGALA LGA, BORNO State who had come to loot a broken down truck in MUSSINI Village. 5 enemy were killed, 1 x AK 47, 1 x AK 47 magazine, 3 x 7.62mm (AK), 27 x bicycles, 10 x machetes and 1 x dagger

A vehicle mounted patrol FROM 133 SF Bn detonated an IED between KANGARWA and ALAGARNO Villages, KUKAWA LGA, BORNO State around 8.00am killing 4, wounding 3 and destroying the vehicle. The suspected 3 man IED team were pursued and killed

Elements of 27 Bde recovered 1 x 122mm D30 unexploded ordinance in an uncompleted building at Federal Low Cost Housing Estate, BUNI YADI, GUJBA LGA YOBE State. The device was safely detonated by EOD

Elements of 8 Div captured 2 youngsters Abubakar ALI (13 years old) and Isah MUSTAPHA (12 years old) allegedly spying on friendly positions in KUKAWA. The boys claimed to have been with the enemy in KANGARWA since 2014

The BORNO State CJTF stated that 680 of their members had been killed by Boko Haram since 2012

Gunmen mounted in a vehicle opened fire on a police check point in the vicinity of Kings Garden off Club Road, KANO, KANO State killing a policeman and a passer by

25 June

The DSS stated it had arrested a suspected Boko Haram commander and up to 30 suspects in KANO State in a 48 hour joint operation with the NPF in RIJIYAR ZAKI and DORAYI in KANO, KANO State capturing weapons and ammunition and IEDs allegedly aiming to conduct attacks in KANO, SOKOTO and KADUNA States

The DSS arrested 3 suspected kidnappers in MARIRI along KANO-WUDIL Road, KUMBOTSO LGA, KANO State

Clashes between a youth group and vigilantes in ANGWAN YAMAN, KONTAGORA LGA, NIGER State resulted in 1 killed and 5 wounded, following the alleged torture and death of a 17 year old boy by the vigilantes

Gunmen attacked a team of policemen as they attempted to effect the arrest of a group of kidnappers in ALLAWA Village, SHIRORO LGA, NIGER State following the arrest and interrogation of 2 alleged gang members, 2 policemen were killed.

Up to 50 armed men from LAKSHIKOLDOK Village, SHONGOM LGA, GOMBE State reportedly attacked KUFAI Village, BILLIRI LGA, GOMBE State led to a policeman killed, several wounded and property destroyed. The attack was apparently a response to an earlier attack by BILLIRI people, which was a response to another earlier

Government sources report that over 200 Fulani men, women and children and 20,000 cattle were killed in 4 days of violence and 5,000 homes destroyed in NGUROJE, SABBAL GUDALI, TOFFI, MAYO DAGA, MAYO SINA, TAMIYA, KWARA KWARA, TUNGAN LUGERE, WURO ARDO MUSA and TIMJIRE. The authorities have deployed police, NSCDC, 23 Bde, 3 Div and 20 Bn. Commissioner of Police Yunana BABAS stated that the crisis originated from a court case between 2 Mambila men and a Fulani, which the Mambila men lost and were subsequently jailed. The LGA Chairman John YEP was accused of having mobilised local militias and vigilantes using radio broadcasts to allege, Fulani’s were murdering Mambilas on June 16

25 June

Chadian President Idriss DEBY stated that CHAD could be forced to withdraw its troops from the fight against extremists if it didn’t get financial help, stating they had spent over 300bn CFA Francs (£402.77m) fighting terrorism

Elements of Chadian MNJTF Area 2 forces completed a 2 day operation against suspected Boko Haram fighters on 5 Lake CHAD islands MALKONORY, TOUMBO REGOU, ARGUE METILE and TOUMBO losing 8 soldiers killed and 18 wounded. Chadians claim to have killed 162 enemy and destroyed several motorcycles. They captured 1 x VBIED, several dozen motorcycles, weapons and ammunition

30 GIPGN NCOs organised into 6 x Gendarme Counter IED squads completed a 16 week US counter IED course in JORDAN receiving 22 tons of equipment at 101 Military Air Base, YAOUNDE

26 June

The Defence Minister Mansur DAN ALI met with his Italian counterpart Roberta PINNOTI to work on a draft technical agreement to facilitate an exchange of data and experiences on naval issues such as counter piracy and oil platform protection as well as the repair of some self propelled artillery pieces

Gunmen attacked ALAGARNO Village on the edge of WAZA National Park, LOGONE ET CHARI Department, EXTREME NORD Region at night abducting an orderly and stealing medical supplies

28 June

2 x female PBIEDs detonated in a refugee camp in KABELEWA, DIFFA Region killing themselves and 2 others and wounding 11

Gunmen attacked MANIGUEIDE, AFADE MAKARY Arrondissement, LOGONE ET CHARI Department at night but were resisted by local villagers who lost 2 killed, capturing 1 Boko Haram who subsequently died of his wound

29 June

2 x PBIED detonated outside a mosque in KERAWA, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region killing themselves and 1 other person when challenged by vigilantes

4 x PBIEDs detonated in NGALBI, MORA Arrondissement, MAYO SAVA Department in the morning killing themselves and a civilian and wounding 2 others after being challenged by vigilantes

2 x PBIEDs were shot in the morning by Camerounian soldiers
