The NSCDC BORNO State Command stated it had deployed 600 personnel to guard worship centres in MAIDUGURI, BORNO State and increased surveillance of motor parks and other areas

05 June

The Army announced that the Director of Military Intelligence and Army Provost Marshall would be investigating allegations of misconduct by security personnel in BAMA IDP Camp

06 June

The NSCDC recovered 2 food trucks from suspected Boko Haram members in MAINOK, KAGA LGA, BORNO State follow a tip off. The people with the vehicle reportedly fled into the bush upon being sighted

07 June

Gunmen occupied ALIDAWARI Village, JERE LGA via MOLAI, JERE LGA around 3. 00pm.Despite warnings to the security forces they attacked towards JIDDARRI POLO, MAIDUGURI, BORNO State around 5.55pm with AAA guns, small arms, PBIEDs and IEDs. They were repelled by NPF SARS and elements of 7 Div, retreating via ALI DAWARI.

Whilst the attack was underway 1 x female and 3 x male PBIEDs infiltrated from the east along the MAIDUGURI- DIKWA-GAMBORU Road axis, with the first detonating outside a mosque opposite the College of Agriculture in GONI KACHALLARI Village, JERE LGA as evening prayers ended killing himself and 6 others and wounding 18 around 8.45pm. The second detonated in the CHAD Basin Development Authority (CBDA) Compound around 9.20pm killing himself and 3 others, whilst the third detonated outside the compound killing himself and one other. A rapid counter attack by police and military with air support defeated the attackers. 4 others were killed and 6 more wounded in the fighting. 3 enemy were killed and 1PBIED was captured, 3 x AK 47s, IEDs and hand grenades were also captured. Local residents fled the area

08 June

The Vice President Yemi OSIBANJO visited MAIDUGURI, BORNO State to launch the distribution of 1.032 trucks of relief materials including 30,905 tons of maize, sorghum and millet to victims of the North East crisis.

A suspected PBIED was shot dead in the vicinity of JIDDARI POLO, MAIDUGURI

An explosion in FADAMAN RAKE Village, HONG LGA, ADAMAWA State 7.00pm. A man in a Toyota Starlet allegedly stopped and gave a bag to a child to give to his father the bag detonated as the children were going home, killing 2 children and wounded 4 around

10 x gunmen mounted on motorcycles attacked HAMBAGDA Village, GWOZA LGA, BORNO State. They ordered the villagers to assemble, but they fled. 12 were captured, with 4 murdered with bladed weapons, 6 abducted and 2 escaped. The attack was apparently in reprisal for the capture of a Boko Haram commander named Adamu RUGURUGU, who the villagers had reported to the military for his incessant attacks

09 June

The ADAMAWA State Command of the NSCDC rescued a 19 year old woman with an 8 month old baby who allegedly escaped from the SAMBISA Forest. The lady stated she was abducted from MUBI, ADAMAWA State in 2014

Gunmen attacked HUMBLI Village, MADAGALI LGA, ADAMAWA State

A General Court Martial sitting at 7 Div, HQ, MAIDUGURI, BORNO State sentenced a Sergeant to reduction in rank for desertion, a Lance Corporal to death for murdering a captured Boko Haram suspect and a Private to 15 years imprisonment for aiding and abetting the murder. A Corporal was reduced to Private for assault and a Private sentenced to 2 and 5 years imprisonment for stealing 641 x7.62mm (AK) rounds

10 June

Gunmen attacked YALE Village, KONDUGA LGA, BORNO State with small arms overrunning a checkpoint killing 2 vigilantes and wounding 1 other

Gunmen attacked KUDA KAYA Village, MADAGALI LGA, ADAMAWA State 2 km from GULAK, around 8.00pm with small arms to steal food and medicine whilst local people fled, they were engaged by local hunters until elements of 28 TF Bn arrived to push them out

Boko Haram released a 23 minute video allegedly showing the attack on MAIDUGURI. It also featured an unidentified man (filmed from neck down) standing atop piles of captured equipment, ammunition, clothing and personal effects, followed by SHEKAU speaking in Kanuri, Hausa and Fulani

Approximately 12 gunmen abducted 7 people in the vicinity of KAKAU,CHIKUN LGA, KADUNA State. 3 managed to escape leaving 3 men and 1 woman as they were taken into the bush

05 June

One of the people abducted near KAKAU was released following a ransom payment

Up to 5 gunmen robbed a man coming back from his farm at a fake checkpoint set up in the vicinity of KWANAN RUWA, CHIKUN LGA, near BURUKU along BIRNIN GWARI Road, KADUNA State

The British Military Assistance Training Team (BMATT) is to commence a 6 week training programme for NAF Regiment personnel on Force Protection at the NAF Regiment Training Centre, KADUNA, KADUNA State with 66 personnel training the students alongside the Basic Regiment Airmen’s Course

Up to 30 gunmen abducted over 20 people from 8 vehicles in the vicinity of AKILIBU Village, KACHIA LGA, KADUNA State along ABUJA-KADUNA Road around 12.30pm

A soldier shot a youth who was allegedly working on the gutter near Command Secondary School, Nnamdi Azikiwe Way, KADUNA, KADUNA State around 9.00am leading to violent demonstrations in which 2 demonstrators were killed and 1 wounded police vehicle was burnt

Gunmen abducted 4 people along KADUNA-BIRNIN GWARI ROAD, KADUNA State

Elements of the NPF, KANO State Transport Road Agency, NSCDC and Hisbah searched SABON GARI Market, KANO, KANO State for illegal drugs and hospital equipment resulting in the death of 2 people

The KANO State Police Command stated it had dismantled several car theft syndicates and arrested 5 x suspected armed robbers in KUNTAU Village, DORAYI BABBA, GWALE LGA recovering 2 x vehicles, GWAGWARWA Quarter, NASSARAWA LGA, recovering 1 x Golf wagon, TSAMIYA BABBA, in GEZAWA LGA, with 2 x vehicles recovered.

3 of the group of over 20 people abducted along KADUNA-ABUJA Road were released by their abductors in the vicinity of RIJANA, KACHIA LGA, KADUNA State following a ransom payment by their families. The released abductees claimed that the kidnappers had over 30 people in captivity, were well armed and well organised between the ages of 22 and 35 and that they had murdered 2 passengers who resisted on the day of the abduction and subsequently murdered 2 others and raped some of the women

Gunmen abducted Salisu ISAH (Member of the KADUNA State House of Assembly for MAGAJIN GARI) heading to BIRNIN GWARI from KADUNA in between KADUNA International Airport/ NDA Roundabout and BURUKU

DCP Ahmad ABDULRAHAMAN of the KADUNA State Police Command issued a statement denying there had been any abductions on KADUNA-ABUJA Road

10 June

The abducted KADUNA State Assembly member, Salisu ISAH was released in the morning

TARABA State Governor Darius Dickson ISHAKU stated that Boko Haram members were infiltrating BALI Forest and GASHAKA GUMPTI National Park in the state, whilst hosting Commander 23 Bde, Brig Gen Bello Abdullahi MOHAMMED

06 June

The trial of Senator Ali NDUME on 4 terrorism related charges in Federal High Court, ABUJA, FCT resumed with the Senator giving testimony, in which he stated that any contacts or information he received from Boko Haram were shard with the DSS and the former Vice President Namadi SAMBO. Ruling was adjourned until 04 July 2017. The trial began in 2011

The Federal High Court, ABUJA discharged Usman ABUBAKAR who was charged along with 7 others (AL BARNAWI et al) with terror charges related to 6the murder and abduction of 7 foreigners in BAUCHI State in February 2013. The Prosecution had informed the court of 05 June that it had no evidence against the accused but added two more defendants Mohammed SANI and Abubakar HABIB

09 June

The NPF have arrested 2 men with 1 x AK 47, 21 x 7.62mm (AK) and IED components in LOKO LGA, NASARAWA State, who confessed to being members of a 6 man armed robbery gang

10 June

Gunmen abducted a lawyer Barrister Franc UTOO in the vicinity of Chambian Plaza, GWARIMPA, ABUJA, FCT

04 June

Up to 50 Camerounian airmen blocked Route Nationale 1 in the vicinity of ZIGUE, LOGONE ET CHARI Department, EXTREME NORD Region in protest over alleged unpaid salaries. Following mediation by senior commanders, they returned to the barracks. They were subsequently arrested and transferred to YAOUNDE

06 June

FRANCE has proposed to the UN Security Council that it supports the G5 Sahel Force in order to eradicate organised crime and Islamist groups

The UN Secretary General Antonio GUTERRES is to visit the Lake CHAD Basin countries sometime prior to the UN General Assembly meeting in September 2017

07 June

2 x female PBIEDs detonated in GALBI Quarter, MORA, MORA Arrondissement, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region, killing the attackers and wounding 2 others. The attackers were reportedly a woman and a pre teen girl

08 June

US Senators Cory BOOKER and Rand PAUL have written to the US Secretary of State Rex TILLERSON, to oppose the $600m, A29 Tucano deal over concerns over human rights violations by Nigerian forces

09 June

A PBIED detonated in the vicinity of BOUVARE, KOLOFATA Arrondissement at night killing only themselves

A PBIED infiltrated the BIR base in KOLOFATA a night killing themselves, 1 soldier and wounding 2
