Gunmen attacked NGURO NGURO Village, KONDUGA LGA, BORNO State killing 5 IDPs from BALE SHUWARI with bladed weapons

30 May

A suspected male PBIED attempted to infiltrate GIWA Barracks, MAIDUGURI, BORNO State and was shot by soldiers around 2.40pm as he attempted to scale the perimeter fence

Theatre Commander Maj Gen Lucky IRABOR handed over to Maj Gen Ibrahim ATTAHIRU in MAIDUGURI

31 May

Gunmen mounted on bicycles and motorcycles attacked KAYA, DAMBOA LGA, BORNO State, 27km from CHIBOK, with small arms killing 7 and burning the village. The rest of the population fled

01 June

KOGI State Police Command arrested 2 suspected kidnappers from ANKPA LGA, who were alleged to have abducted the chief Imam of ENABO, ANKPA LGA in February 2017 in AYINGBA, KOGI State and 9th mile, ENUGU State

30 May

Gunmen abducted Garba DURBUNDE, a member of the NASS (TAKAI/ SUMAILA, KANO State) along ABUJA Road, in JERE LGA, KADUNA State

31 May

Mr DURBUNDE was released unharmed. Allegedly no ransom was paid

The Chairman of panel on alleged Army Human Rights abuses Maj Gen A.T. JIBRIN (retired) presented his report to the COAS, Lt Gen BURATAI in ABUJA, FCT. The terms of reference included alleged killing of neo Biafra protestors and Boko Haram suspects

Suspected Fulani gunmen attacked KARGUDNA Village, CHIKUN LGA, KADUNA State killing a vigilante and abducting the wife and 2 children of the Village Head, who escaped with his first son

The US Embassy completed a 1 month training course for the Anti Bomb Command in LAGOS, LAGOS State

2 x PBIEDs detonated in DJAKANA, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region killing themselves and wounding 2 vigilantes

The Foreign Minister Geoffrey ONYEAMA travelled to MOSCOW, RUSSIAN Federation for discussions with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey LAVROV on the purchase of military equipment including helicopters

02 June

2 x suspected female teenage PBIEDs infiltrated an IDP Camp in the vicinity of KOLOFATA, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region around 6.00am, pretending to be refugees before detonating, killing themselves and 9 others and wounding 30

A suspected PBIED was shot in GANCE, MAYO SAVA Department 30 minutes before the Prefect of MAYO SAVA returned from the investiture of the KOLOFATA Sub Prefect

03 June

The G5 Sahel states (NIGER Republic, CHAD, BURKINA FASO, MALI and MAURITANIA) requested 50m Euros from the EU to set up the G5 Sahel Joint Force multinational force to tackle Islamist militants at a meeting in BAMAKO, MALI
