Situation North East (Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States)

11 December

2 young female PBIEDs detonated near the old NEPA Office by the Monday Market, MAIDUGURI, around 8.48am, the girls were reportedly aged between 7-8 years old and could speak neither Hausa or Kanuri and were turned back by vigilantes guarding the market before detonating, killing themselves and wounding 17 (one of whom later died)

12 December

An IED detonated under a 118 TF Bn convoy heading from MAIDUGURI to BAGA in the vicinity of ZARE and GUDUMBALI, GUZAMALA LGA killing the CO Lt Col O. UMUSU

13 December

The ADAMAWA State Government stated it would procure weapons for 150 vigilantes

13 December

Gunmen attacked military positions in KAMUYA Village, BIU LGA, BORNO State, 10km from BURATAI around 10.00am engaging friendly forces in a 2 hour firefight, killing and wounding an unspecified number of soldiers

Gunmen attacked troops in harbour in the vicinity of BULA BELLO, BORNO State around 3.31pm but were repelled

Troops conducting exploitation ops from BULA BELLO discovered a VBIED in the enemy forming up point, which was destroyed with an RPG around 7.00am, 1 x GPMG, 1 x FN magazine with 20 x 7.62mm (NATO) rounds, 156 x 7.62mm (NATO) link and 1 x RPG round were captured

15 December

The NPF in ADAMAWA State have announced they will be destroying captured IEDS on Saturday 17th at the MAYO INE Shooting Range, FUFORE LGA

A suspected female PBIED was intercepted in RANN, KALA BALGE LGA, BORNO State around 10.30am by CJTF vigilantes and troops, who tackled her before she could detonate. The girl claims to have been abducted on her way to GAMBORU Town

Troops supported by vigilantes ambushed enemy forces in the vicinity of BAREMA Farm along GONIRI-DAMBOA Road, DAMBOA (?) LGA, BORNO State capturing 20 men and 61 females and children who stated they were coming from FULUS Village north of KAFA Village, KAGA LGA to GONIRI

2 x female PBIEDs attempted to penetrate a defensive position at LIMANKARA, GWOZA LGA, BORNO State. They were shot when they refuse to halt and their devices detonated

Troops conducted clearance ops in the vicinity of KANGARWA, METELE and DOGON CHUKU, clearing enemy positions in KANGARWA and METELE killing 1 enemy and wounding and capturing one other who claimed to be an Amir . the prisoner died of wounds, 1 x soldier was wounded and a vehicle destroyed by an enemy RPG

Camerounian forces handed over 116 men, 147 women and 248 children to Nigerian troops at BANKI, 8 suspected Boko Haram member were identified by people in the IDP camp

16 December

Soldiers attached to 21 Bde deployed to BULA BELLO as part of Op Rescue Final allegedly protested over alleged poor conditions and mistreatment.

Media reports state that 7 Div GOC Brig Gen Victor EZUGWU was mobbed by soldiers from 21 Bde after bringing food and water in his helicopter

Troops from FOB DIKWA intercepted 57 rams and sheep at a suspected enemy crossing point along DIKWA-AJIRI Road

299 detainees were released by the Army to the BORNO State Government

Troops supported by vigilantes acting on information from locals detained 2 suspected female escapees in the AZARE, HAWUL LGA, BORNO State who stated they had just come out of SAMBISA Forest

Boko Haram ISWAP has distributed photographs via social media showing their forces in the Lake CHAD area interacting with civilians and meting out punishments

17 December

Troops ambushed the enemy at the FIRGI crossing point at PULKA-BANKI Junction, BORNO State around 9.00am killing 2 x suspected enemy and wounding and capturing a 12 year old boy who stated he had been abducted. 1 x motorcycle, 1  spare tyre, 1 x AK 47, 28 x 7.62mm (AK) and a suicide vest were captured

Situation North West (Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States)

13 December

The SOKOTO State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Suleiman USMAN stated that the State Government had decided to ban the IMN

14 December

Suspected Fulani gunmen attacked UNGWAN RANA in GADANI Village, GWAGWADA District, CHIKUN LGA, KADUNA State killing 15 people and burning several houses

15 December

A meeting between traditional rulers and suspected livestock rustlers was held in GOBIRAWA CHALI Village, DANSADAU Emirate, MARU LGA, ZAMFARA State under the auspices of 1 Div and the State Deputy Governor

Situation North Centre (Abuja FCT, Bauchi, Benue, Gombe Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau, Taraba States)

12 December

A dispute between a farmer and a herdsman in IDAH, IDAH, LGA, KOGI State led to the herdsman allegedly cutting off the hand and ear of the farmer

15 December

Gunmen attacked GBAKA Village, SHIRORO LGA, NIGER State around 6.00pm with small arms, cutlasses and bow and arrows killing 4 villagers and stealing up to 700 cattle

17 December

The corpses of 2 Fulani men from SABON GIDAN Village, GASSOL LGA, TARABA State were reportedly found in the bush and their cattle stolen, a crime they accuse their Tiv neighbours of .

12 December

ECOWAS Commission President Marcel DE SOUZA donated $1m to BORNO State Government and $400,000.00 on behalf of the ICRC

14 December

Gunmen murdered 2 traders in the vicinity of GREA, KOLOFATA Arrondissement, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region

17 December

NORWAY has donated $11.5m to BORNO, YOBE, GOMBE and ADAMAWA States as part of the Safe Schools Initiative to boost access to education
