06 November

Gunmen mounted in pick up trucks attacked elements of 119 TF Bn, 8 Div in KANGARWA, KUKAWA LGA, BORNO State around 4.00pm with small arms, heavy machine guns and RPGs but were defeated with support from ISR and Attack aircraft after a 4 hour firefight, losing 13 enemy and sustaining 1 friendly dead and 3 wounded. Troops destroyed 2 x Toyota Hiluxes, 1 x Hilux, 1 x Browning HMG, 1 x 14.5mm(?) AAA gun, 2 x GPMG, 1 x PKM, 2 x RPGs tubes, 7 x RPG rounds, 5 x AK 47 and 550 x AAA rounds

BORNO State Police Command is to deploy 100 female police officers to IDP Camps following allegations of sexual abuse and set up a committee to look into the allegations.

07 November

GOC 7 Div, Brig Gen Victor EZUGWU stated that the Army has released 1,271 detainees in 5 batches this year

08 November

An IED detonated under 152 TF Bn, vehicle on the BANKI-USMANARI-KUMSHE Road, BAMA LGA, BORNO State around 8.10am killing at least 2 soldier and wounding 8. The vehicle was destroyed

09 November

The NPF completed a 5 day course at MOPOL Base 14, YOLA, ADAMAWA State for 251 members of vigilante groups from ADAMAWA and TARABA States in basic intelligence gathering

11 November 3 suspected female PBIEDs were spotted by a patrol in the vicinity of UMURARI Village, JERE LGA, near MOLAI, MAIDUGURI behind MAIMALARI Barracks around 5.30am, one was shot and wounded, whilst the other 2 detonated, the 3rd device was made safe by NPF EOD.

The Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) stated they are to train 200 Islamic clerics from ADAMAWA, BORNO and YOBE State on how on counter radicalisation in a Japanese Government sponsored UNDP course, with a manual from the Islamic Da’awah Centre and Ahmadu Bello University, ZARIA

NEMA ADAMAWA State stated that the number of IDPs in YOLA, ADAMAWA State had dropped from 60,000 to 18,958 through the voluntary return of IDPs to their homes

Media reports state that the Federal Government paid a ransom of $13m (or $21m) for the release of the GSS CHIBOK abductees

The Nigerian military denied paying a ransom for the release of the 21 GSS CHIBO abductees

Gunmen killed 10 traders from KANOMA Town, MARU LGA, ZAMFARA State heading to TALATA MAFARA Market

Several cattle rustlers operating in the RUGU Forest in KATSINA State surrendered their weapons at a ceremony in ILLELA, SAFANA LGA, KATSINA State as part of a peace deal arranged by the State Branch of the Miyyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association

IMN alleges there is a plot to attack Shi’ite Arbaeen processions on 20 November with hired thugs and called on the President to guarantee their protection

Up to 70 gunmen mounted on motorcycles attacked a gold mine in GIDAN ARDO Village, BINDIN District, MARU LGA, ZAMFARA State around 3.00pm killing up to 36 people and wounding several others. The suspected cattle rustlers murdered traders around the entrance of the mine before entering the tunnels and killing the miners

09 November

Approximately 12 gunmen mounted on motorcycles attacked MAKERA, MARINA, YARA GABAS, YARA AREWA and KOFAR FADA, KASADA LGA, KATSINA State early in the morning, blocking the roads, killing the Deputy Imam and wounding several others in and stealing money and other items.

Gunmen attacked Camerounian Army positions in GASSAMA, LOGONE ET CHARI Department inflicting 1 wounded before being defeated

07 November

A Camerounian military vehicle detonated an IED in the vicinity of WAMBECHE-LIMANI, MAYO SAVA Department, wounding 3 soldiers

08 November

Approximately 200 gunmen attempted to attack a military post in SANDAWADJIRI, MAYO SAVA Department at night but were defeated by Camerounian forces

10 November

Camerounian forces engaged the enemy in the vicinity of BIA, MAYO SAVA Department at night with 1 enemy dead and 4 captured

An IED detonated in SANDAWADJIRI, killing 2 civilians and wounding 3

11 November

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Khadija ABBA-IBRAHIM stated  NIGERIA and RUSSIA have negotiated 2 agreements on military cooperation covering technical cooperation, training and procurement

12 November

Media reports state that hundreds of (mainly Chadian) Boko Haram fighters and their families have surrendered to the MNJTF in CHAD
