Situation North East (Adamawa, Borno and Yobe States)

30 October

Troops patrolling from BAMA to PULKA spotted suspected Boko Haram suppliers in this vicinity of FIRGI and ZAWAN, BAMA LGA, BORNO State, 1 was captured, whilst 35 packet of Glucose IV fluid, assorted analgesics and pain killers, clothes, bathroom slippers, insecticides, salt, kolanut and a bicycle were captured

Troops supported by CJTF vigilantes detained a suspected Boko Haram fuel supplier Fantoma LASANI from FLATARI, BAMA LGA at MUNA Garage on suspicion of supplying the enemy in GWOZA, BAMA and SAMBISA Forest with petrol

NSCDC BORNO State Commandant Ibrahim ABDULLAHI stated they had intercepted 5 litres of fuel disguised as groundnut oil heading to GAMBORU NGALA, the suspect captured with it stated that each 5l container retailed at N15,000.00 to the insurgents

A suspected male PBIED attempted to infiltrate BAKASSI IDP Camp, MAIDUGURI around 9.00am but was spotted, pursued and shot by sentries as he approached from DAMBOA Road. The device was made safe by police and military EOD

Human Rights Watch has alleged that in had documented 43 cases of women and girls in 7 IDP camps who they state have been abused by camp officials, vigilantes, soldiers and policemen, with allegations of rape and coerced sex. President BUHARI has ordered an investigation

NSCDC BORNO State command stated they are training 50 civilian in surveillance and intelligence gathering at motor parks, shopping malls, markets, drinking spots and ‘ghetto areas’

8 suspected male PBIEDs mounted in a pick up truck attempted to get through a checkpoint in GUBIO, GUBIO LGA, BORNO State at 9.15am. when challenged on detonated killing all 8

Elements of 8 TF Div conducted Op Hard Knock to clear enemy from MOMO and TUMSHE Villages, in the vicinity of MARTE, MARTE LGA, killing 6 suspected enemy, rescuing 19 women and 19 children from DUMBA Village in the process and capturing 22 motorcycles

Herdsmen and farmers clashed in KWAYINE Village, DEMSA LGA, ADAMAWA State with one person killed

03 November

Elements of 8 TF Div conducted a fighting patrol along MONGUNO-BRIMARI Road, MONGUNO LGA, BORNO State encountering suspected enemy in the vicinity of BRIMARI who they defeated after a 15 minute firefight, killing 2 suspects and capturing 1 x FN FAL, 10 x 7.62mm (NATO), 1 x AK 47, 2 x AK magazines, 1 x FN magazine, 2 x motorcycles, assorted drugs and clothing

A suspected female PBIED attempted to enter a military position in YAMTEKE, GWOZA LGA, BORNO State but was shot and killed by a sentry around 9.45pm. Following the initial female PBIED gunmen attacked the position with small arms and at least 2 other PBIEDs, losing 4 killed (including the PBIEDs) and 1 x friendly soldier killed. 2 x AK 47, 3 x magazines, 109 x 7.62mm (AK) rounds, 1 x water bottle, 3 x sets of webbing, 1 x para illumination and illegal drugs were captured

04 November

Gunmen attacked elements of 119 Bn at MALLAM FATORI, KUKAWA LGA, BORNO State around 10.00pm but were defeated after a counter attack by 272 Tank Bn losing 14 killed. Friendly forces lost 5 troops killed and 4 wounded including CO 272 Tank Bn, Lt Col Abu ALI, a renowned war hero who received a battlefield promotion in September 2015. 1 x GPMG, 7 x AK 47 and a large quantity of ammunition were captured. 50 soldiers had reportedly been withdrawn from MALLAM FATORI shortly before the attack

Elements of 22 Bde led by 3Bn cleared GERAM, BULANKASSA and CHUKUNGUDU, ABADAM LGA, BORNO State near Lake CHAD defeating enemy forces, killing 5 for the loss of 1 soldier. Capturing 4 x RPG rounds, 1 x double barrel shotgun, 349 x assorted rounds of ammunition, 3 x AK 47 magazines, 1 x 7.62mm belt, 3 x vehicles, several motorcycles and freeing 85 abductees. An IED making facility was discovered at GERAM, with 4 x small IEDs, 2 x IED belts and 1 x medium IED and a vehicle and motorcycle workshop in CHUKUNGUDU. The IEDs and vehicles were destroyed

05 November

Elements of 121 Bn, intercepted several escapees from SAMBISA Forest in PULKA, GWOZA Forest around 6.00am, identifying one as a GSS CHIBOK abductee named Maryam Ali MAIYANGA with a 10 month old son

Elements of 27 TF Bde began Op Karya Gwuiwa conducting clearance operations towards AJIGIN, GOLGORE, NJIBULA, DOKSA 1, 2 and 3, DAMBOA LGA, BORNO State killing 37 enemy and capturing 3 x AK 47, with 1 x vigilante killed and 6 x soldiers wounded. 1 suspect was captured and 1 x suspected female abductee and capturing 8 x motorcycles, foodstuffs and bedding

Situation North West (Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara States)

02 November

IMN members demonstrated in front of the National Assembly and Federal Secretariat, ABUJA, FCT demanding the release of Sheikh EL ZAKZAKY, they were dispersed by police with tear gas

The NDLEA KADUNA State Command raided a warehouse in ZARIA arresting 9 suspected suspects and seizing cartons of Tramadol worth N30m

03 November

KANO State Magistrates Court discharged all 5 suspects in the murder case of Bridget AGBAHIME and terminated the case on the advice of the KANO State Attorney General

Situation North Centre (Abuja FCT, Bauchi, Benue, Gombe Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau, Taraba States)

31 October

Approximately 30 suspected Fulani gunmen attacked GBADA Village, KAURE, SHIRORO LGA, NGER state around 3.00am killing 5 people and stealing cattle

02 November

Up to 10 gunmen attacked several courts in MAKURDI, BENUE State around 8.00am. Starting with the Chief Magistrates Court where they stole a computer, printer, generator and several case files and then BENUE State High Court 9 taking Justice Mary ABOUNU (who is also the Deputy Governors wife) and other court staff hostage and then stealing a fridge, 3 x stabilisers, a computer, window blinds and then the Upper Area Court where they stole N280,000.00. the gunmen reportedly locked the courtrooms with padlocks after they finished

03 November

Unknown persons murdered 3 children aged (6, 7 and 10) in DOBELI Village, GASSOL LGA, TARABA State, reportedly beheading them for suspected ritual purposes, their bodies were discovered by the river after they went to bathe but didn’t return

A South Korean delegation led by Maj Gen YO Song Chol visited the CDS Maj Gen Abayomi OLONISAKIN, Defence HQ in ABUJA, FCT and offered training in counter insurgency

01 November

US AFRICOM Commander Gen Thomas D. WALDHAUSER visited Forces Armees Nigeriennes Air Base 201, AGADEZ

MNJTF PR Col Muhammad DOLE stated that 240 suspected enemy had surrendered to MNJTF Sector 2 forces in BAGA SOLA. The total number surrendered in the course of the operation is 464. Commander MNJTF Maj Gen ADEOSUN donated 2 x cows and other food stuffs to the prisoners. Gen ADEOSUN also donated 1m CFA Francs to the families of each KIA and 500,000.00 CFA Francs to the families of each WIA from Sector 2 and Sector 4

Chadian security forces detained a Camerounian mission from the Lake Chad Basin Commission (CBLT) for sailing on the River LOGONE without approval from Chadian authorities around 12.00pm in the vicinity of NGAMTSAI and detained in KATAOA.

02 November

A Camerounian military court in YAOUNDE has convicted 3 young men for ‘non denunciation of terrorist acts’ (which in normal terms means forwarding a joke SMS about Boko Haram) to 10 years imprisonment. The trio were arrested in December 2014 in DOUALA and then transferred to and detained in YAOUNDE until the trial
