Gunmen mounted on bicycles attacked KWAMJILARI Village, CHIBOK LGA, 30km east of CHIBOK Town, BORNO State killing at least 8 people as they left church and then set fire to the village and maize fields

MNJTF Commander conducted an interview on AIT TV Station in which he confirmed the capture of DAMASAK and GASHIGA and stated MALAM FATORI would be next

19 September

Gunmen attacked TALLARI Village, DAMBOA LGA, BORNO State between KILAKIA and CHIBOK with bladed weapons slitting the throat of the Village Chief and his son and then burning the village, shooting at fleeing residents killing 2 more

Gunmen ambushed a convoy heading from DAMBOA to MAIDUGURI in the vicinity of SANDA, KONDUGA LGA, killing 6 civilians and wounding 3 soldiers

The YOBE State Government states that only 3,000 IDPs remain in the state

The AIG of NPF Zone 1 Adamu IBRAHIM stated that the police will look to reopen the Divisional Offices closed as a result of the Boko Haram insurgency

Friendly forces attacked MALLAM FATORI, ABADAM LGA, BORNO State with air support

Governor Kashim SHETTIMA relocated his office to BAMA, BAMA LGA to oversee reconstruction

Gunmen counter attacked MALLAM FATORI, forcing friendly forces to withdraw ISWAP claimed to have killed 40 troops

Gunmen attacked MNJTF and Nigerian Forces in ABADAM Village, ABADAM LGA, BORNO State around 6.30am and were defeated after a 2 hour firefight leaving 15 enemy dead, 2 friendly’s were killed and 4 wounded. Captured were 1 x weapon mounted vehicle, 1 x 60mm mortar, 1 x GPMG, 3 x AK 47, 4 x belts of AAA ammunition

Media reports state that Daesh/ ISWAP fighters clashed with Boko Haram/ Shekau fighters around BOBOSHE and MULYE, DIKWA LGA, BORNO State

A delegation from the Danish Refugee Council visited BORNO State Governor Kashim SHETTIMA in BAMA, offering to bring demining experts to help return farms to use. The governor asked for a cashless intervention in the form of building materials.

The abducted school teacher was released at night by her abductors in ZARIA, KADUNA State. It is unclear if a ransom was paid

The NHRC has accused the military of using disproportionate force in the ZARIA Incident which 380 IMN members were killed

SOKOTO State NDLEA Command stated they had arrested 134 suspects with 118.695kg of cannabis in the past 8 months of who 45 had been convicted

Elements of 223 Bn, 1 Bde, 1 Div raided a suspected bandits camp in TOFA Forest, GUSAU LGA, ZAMFARA State, killing 1 suspect and injuring others, recovered were 1 x dane gun, 2 x locally made pistols and 4 x motorcycles

Troops conducted a long range patrol through DUMBURUM Forest in ZURMI LGA, ZAMFARA State, engaging suspected armed bandits killing 1, recovering 3 x locally made pistols and burning the camp after other suspects fled on motorcycles. Troops at ANCHAU, KUBAU LGA, KADUNA State pursued a suspected armed bandit named Danladi Tasha ADAMU in KARGI District, who escaped into the bush leaving 7 stolen cattle

Elements of 11 Field Engineer Regt, 1 Div conducted a raid based on intelligence from vigilantes in ANCHAU on YAR DOKA Village, KUBAU LGA, KADUNA State, killing 3 suspects and wounded several others, recovering 15 x dane guns, 6 x locally made pistols, 1 x ‘torchlight pistol’, 3 x empty shotgun cartridges, 52 x 7.62mm (AK) empty cases

24 September

Suspected armed robbers blocked the ABUJA-KADUNA Expressway in the vicinity GODOGODO, JEMA’A LGA, KADUNA State, police responded arresting 7 and recovering 3 motorcycles and rescuing 3 abductees

Approximately 20, gunmen attacked TYOTYU Village, TONGOV Ward, TARKA LGA, BENUE State along MAKURDI- GBOKO Road stealing livestock and personal items and then burning the village and market. The raiders were reportedly identified as Ihyarev-Tivs from UVIR and BAA villages who were in conflict with Kparev-Tivs who had taken up residence in TYOTYU

Benue State Police Command paraded 4 suspects accused of the kidnap and murder of Rev John Alex ADEYI in April 2016. The suspects were arrested in ENUGU, BENUE and BAUCHI. A man and woman attempted to abduct the daughter of the TARABA State House of Assembly as she was going to school at 6.00am from Legislative Quarters, JALINGO. The suspects stopped the car by pretending there was a fault with it and then attacked the driver with a knife, the child fled and alerted security guards who detained the suspects 18 September A Joint Security operation with the DSS, 72 SF Bn and NPF in GBISHE Village, KATSINA ALA LGA, BENUE State resulted in the deaths of 2 men suspected of perpetrating the attack on SENGA Village on Wednesday the 14th, 3 other suspects were arrested, recovered were sets of military style uniform, charms, 1 x Honda car and several number plates including diplomatic

The UK Assistant CDS Rear Adm. Simon ANCONA visited the CDS Gen Gabriel OLONISAKIN in ABUJA, FCT and commended Nigeria forces on their efforts against Boko Haram.
