Ardo Abba MUHAMMED and Muhammadu KAIGAMA in AZARE, GUJBA LGA, YOBE State, whilst on horseback and a bicycle and herding sheep. The suspect allegedly confessed to rearing animals for Boko Haram

The market in DAMBOA, DAMBOA LGA, BORNO State reopened 2 years after it was shut down

07 September

Media reports state that gunmen from the AL BARNAWI/ ISWAP Faction attacked a SHEKAU/ Boko Haram Faction Camp in the vicinity of ZUWA Villages, MARTE LGA on 31 August, killing several. The AL BARNAWI/ ISWAP Faction allegedly told local villagers they were attacking the others as they had ‘derailed from true jihad and were killing innocent people’. Local vigilantes claim that a similar clash 1 week ago drove SHEKAU/ Boko Harm faction elements away and freed members of the local populace. The next day elements of the AL BARNAWI/ ISWAP Faction allegedly attacked a SHEKAU/ Boko Haram Faction Camp in the vicinity of YELE and ARAFA Villages, MONGUNO LGA, killing 3, wounding 1 and capturing 1 other in YELE and killing several others in ARAFA

08 September

Maj Gen Lucky IRABOR MCCC Commander stated that some soldiers had sold arms and ammunition to Boko Haram at a news conference but gave no details or timings of the alleged crimes

YOBE State Governor Ibrahim GEIDAM has stated that YOBE needs N10-12bn for reconstruction

The BORNO State Governor has stated that he will temporarily relocate to BAMA and GWOZA LGA after the Sallah Holidays to oversee reconstruction

KANO State Police Command arrested 22 suspected kidnappers in SUMAILA and DOGUWA LGA operating in the FALGORE and GOMO Forests recovering 4 x locally made long barrelled weapons, 9 x motorcycles, 2 x masks, 96 x cows, 33 x sheep, 1 x dog, 56 x rounds of ammunition, an unspecified amount of drugs, 2 x mobile phones, 1 x bow and arrow, 1 x axe, 1 x machete and N200,000.00.
