A Statement from President BUHARI’s media adviser stated the Federal Government was ready to take all necessary measures to negotiate with ‘bona fide’ leaders of Boko Haram for the GSS CHIBOK abductees, he also stated that Boko Haram could identify an international NGO to represent it in talks if it didn’t want a direct negotiation

The NAF conducted air strikes at night on an enemy camp between MALAM FATORI and KANGARWA, KUKAWA LGA, BORNO State, approximately 6km away from that attacked on 19 August

The NAF stated that its aircraft used 1.9m litres of aviation fuel per month for operations in the North East at a seminar in LAGOS, LAGOS State entitled ‘Repositioning NAF logistics for Efficient Employment of Air Power in response to Contemporary National Security Imperatives’.

President BUHARI has ordered the IGP to investigate and prosecute anyone stealing food or aid from IDPs in the North East

The MNJTF stated that troop numbers had increased to 10,500 (which nations had sent more troops had not been specified) and were conducting blocking operations on suspected enemy supply routes with ISR support from FRANCE, UK and USA. Nigeria’s contribution to the MNJTF was $86m as of 30 August.

Elements of 1 Div in KADUNA State detained a suspected cattle rustler Isah FULANI at MARARRABAR JOS, IGABI LGA. Other elements engaged another group in a firefight killing 1 in TASHAR NAKAU, IKARA LGA, capturing 1 x handgun and 6 x improvised 9mm rounds. 2 x fake vigilantes were detained in ANCHAU, KABAU LGA, whilst a suspected armed robber was detained in BIRNIN GWARI LGA, who allegedly operated on the road between KATSINA and KADUNA State particularly between BIRNIN GWARI and FUNTUA

Elements of 1 Div in ZAMFARA State cleared 2 suspected cattle rustler camps in DUMBURUM Forest, ZURMI LGA recovering 209 cows and 1,062 goats and sheep

The Federal High Court, ABUJA, FCT reject an application for the immediate release of IMN leader Sheik EL ZAKZAKY on the grounds that the application was not served on the DSS, IGP of Police and Attorney General of the Federation as joint respondents

Gunmen killed the leader of the local vigilante groups in KAKURI, KADUNA SOUTH LGA, KADUNA State around 3.30am

The DSS arrested 2 suspected kidnappers in TAMBURAWA Village, DAWAKIN KUDU LGA, KANO State along KANO-ZARIA Road, who are alleged to be part of a gang operating from the FALGORE Forest

The ZAMFARA State Police Command states it has identified 14 suspects off the 22 August ‘blasphemy’ murders in TALATA MAFARA, including the 8 deceased. Another person Kuryan MADARO of KAURA NAMODA LGA has been arrested and charged and a second unnamed person is to be charged upon release from hospital

The DSS announced they had detained 2 suspected Boko Haram members, Ibrahim Ustaz ABUBAKAR and Idris AUDU (aka AYA) in KANO state. AUDU is alleged to be an IED ‘specialist’ who had sought recruitment into the Army

SOKOTO State Police Command arrested 14 suspected criminals who operated a ‘1 hour market’ between 6.00pm and 7.00pm in stolen goods

Suspected nomadic gunmen attacked ALLAWA, GALADIMA KOGO, ERENA and other villages in SHIRORO LGA, NIGER State, reportedly killing up to 37 people

Over 300 MOPOL personnel have been deployed to KOGI State as part of Op Total Freedom to combat kidnapping, armed robbery and other violent crimes, joining 350 local policemen

Prisoners in KUJE Prison, ABUJA, FCT rioted after a routine search reportedly turned up 25 mobile phones in the possession of a Boko Haram prisoner in the VIP/ Deradicalisation wing

31 Artillery Bde has reportedly informed the NIGER State Governor that it intends to search 5 villages in the vicinity of KPAIDNA Village, BOSSO LGA, NIGER State to search for 2 x rifles, 1 x video camera and 1 x walkie talkie that were still missing from the previous operation

Amnesty International has stated that 130 men and boys detained in MAGDEME and DOUBLE Villages, LOGONE ET CHARI Department on 27 December 2014 remained unaccounted for. The NGO alleges 28 men had died in custody

01 September

Gunmen attacked GOUZOUDOU, MAYO SAVA Department, 6km from KOLOFATA around 1.00am killing 1 man and wounding a vigilante before being repelled by the Camerounian Army

02 September

Gunmen mounted on camels attacked TOUMOUR (75km from DIFFA), DIFFA Region, NIGER Republic around 10.00am killing 5 and wounding 2 villagers and burning the village, after the locals attempted to resist with bows and arrows. The attackers withdrew into NIGERIA across the KOMADOUGOU- YOBE River
