Suspected nomadic gunmen attacked KODOMUN Village, DEMSA LGA, ADAMAWA State again burning down the village, soldiers mounted in 10 x Toyota Hiluxes supported by a helicopter evacuated the villages to DEMSA, whilst others fled along the NUMAN-YOLA Road up to 30 people are reported killed or missing in the attacks

Soldiers conducted intelligence led raids in GAMBORU, NGALA LGA, BORNO State recovering 3 x AK 47 type rifles, 2 x Beryl M762 rifles, 235 x 7.62mm (AK)and 7 x AK 56 magazines

Troops ambushed bicycle mounted gunmen along DAMBOA-KUBWA Road in the vicinity of MULTE Village, DAMBOA LGA killing 1 and capturing 1 x AK 47, 1 x dane gun with improvised banana magazine, 14 x 7.62mm (AK) rounds, 1 x double barrel pistol and 14 x bicycles

An IED was left in a bag near ECC premises along POMPOMARI Byepass, MAIDUGURI near the home of a former BORNO State Governor. NPF EOD made the device safe

Gunmen attacked YAURI Village, JERE LGA on the outskirts of MADUGURI, BORNO State around 8.00pm but were defeated by elements of 7 Div supported by vigilantes who killed 5 and recovered 2 x AK 47, 1 x GPMG, 1 x 60mm mortar tube, 1 x FN FAL, 2 x dane guns, 2 x AK 47 magazines, 2 x FN magazines, 131 x 7.62mm (NATO), 31 x 7.62mm (AK), 1 x 60mm mortar bomb, 10 x bicycles and N31, 275.00

Soldiers supported by vigilantes arrested a suspected Boko Haram member Mohammed Mohammed ZAURO in SABON GARI, DAMBOA LGA, BORNO State, around 8.30am. the suspect was reportedly attempting to reach BIRNIN KEBBI, KEBBI State, from SMBISA Forest, with N7,900.00, a Gionee mobile phone and fake SAIE/JIBWIS ID Card. Another suspect Lawal ABOI was captured on DAMBOA-BALE Road, allegedly en route to DAMBOA to surrender

The NSA Maj Gen (retired) Babagana MONGUNO met with representative of Notore Petrochemical and Indorama Eleme Petrochemical over the use of urea nitrate in IEDs. Curiously he accused the companies of exporting 71% of their annual joint production of 2.05m tonnes as opposed to 47% thus causing scarcity (it was unclear whether this encouraged or discouraged the making of IEDs). He also stated 9,000kg of high explosive and 16,420 detonators had been diverted in the Niger Delta

The EU has donated an additional 12.5m Euros in humanitarian aid to support refugees and IDPs in NIGERIA (9m Euros), NIGER (1.5m Euros) and CAMEROUN (2m Euros), making a total of 70.5m Euros over the past year for the region
