THE BORNO State Government has ordered local government workers to resume duties in MAFA, MAGUMERI, DIKWA, KONDUGA, BENISHEIKH, ASKIRA UBA, KALA BALGE and KAGA LGA

25 July

Soldiers at a 7 Div checkpoint on the outskirts of DAMBOA Road intercepted the wife and daughter of the Shehu of BAMA who escaped from an enemy camp in SAMBISA Forest, 2 years after they were abducted from BAMA, BAMA LGA, BORNO State.

Troops ambushed enemy forces entering the SAMBISA Forest from KUMALA and MUSAFANARI axis, KONDUGA LGA, BORNO State killing 2, whilst 2 soldiers were wounded. 2 x AK 47, 4 x AK 47 magazines with 120 rounds, 25 x litres of petrol, 1 x motorcycle, 2 x bicycles, soap, slippers and assorted foodstuffs were captured

Elements of 8 Div cleared KARETO, MOBBAR LGA, BORNO State

28 July

Elements of Sector 4 MNJTF supported by the NAF and allied air forces advanced through DOUTSI and cleared SURE in DIFFA Region and then captured DAMASAK, MOBBAR LGA, BORNO State around 10.00am

Approximately 50 gunmen ambushed a UN convoy heading to an IDP camp in BAMA in the vicinity of MELERI Village a few kilometres from KAWURI Village, KONDUGA LGA with small arms and a vehicle mounted AAA gun, wounding 2 soldiers and 3 aid worker. Troops defeated the ambush, exploiting up to AFUNORI and the convoy returned to MAIDUGURI

29 July

Troops ambushed enemy gunmen in the vicinity of PULKA, GWOZA LGA, BORNO State killing 2 and wounding 1, capturing 1 x AK 47, 1 x GPMG, 1 x bicycle, 5 x FN FAL magazines, 1 x motorcycle, 1 x AK47 magazine with 28 x 7.62mm (AK) rounds, 67 x 7.62mm (NATO) link, 1 x Tecno mobile phone and assorted foodstuffs

Brig Gen OJO, the Rector of the NIGERIA Army Institute of Technology and Environment Studies stated the Institute’s School of Management has relocated to BIU, BIU LGA, BORNO State, with others to follow once logistics and personnel challenges had been addressed

The Army Special Forces Training School has been moved to BUNI YADI, GUJBA LGA, YOBE State

UNICEF has resumed humanitarian assistance in BORNO State

209 officers and airmen graduated from the Basic Regiment Officers Course and Basic Airmen/Airwomen Course at the NAF Regiment Training Centre, NAF KADUNA, KADUNA State. Conducted with the assistance of the British Military Advisory Training Team, commanded by Wing Cmdr John REES MBE (RAF Regiment). Other courses included the Paratroopers Instructors and Rappelling Courses for Special Forces units

Suspected nomadic gunmen killed a farmer in KARAGI, LOKOJA LGA, KOGI State

25 July

Suspected nomadic gunmen attacked ADAYOHOR Village, GAAMBE TIEV, LOGO LGA, BENUE State along UYER-GOV SEVAV Road with small arms and bladed weapons around 7.30am killing up to 14 people

Suspected nomadic gunmen attacked TSE ADAYOL, LOGO LGA around 8.30am killing up to  11 people and wounding 2 with 7 missing

27 July

The KOGI State DSS Command stated that 10 suspected kidnappers had been arrested in different parts of the state, including 4 who were arrested in military style uniforms in KOTON KARFE along the LOKOJA-ABUJA Road going from KADUNA State to OBAJANA. Some of the suspects were captured with a 3 x military style uniforms, 7 x shotgun cartridges, 14 x mobile phones, 1 x VW Golf, unspecified amount of cash, 1 x cutlass, 1 x locally made pistol and 1 x long barrelled weapon

Gunmen ambushed a convoy of community leaders from DELTA State between OKENE and LOKOJA, KOGI State abducted Cleric ALAOWEI man and leaving 2 others injured.

Students at NASARAWA State Polytechnic, LAFIA protested against the killing of a student in a road traffic accident by blocking the LAFIA-AKWANGA Road. Police attempting to clear the protest allegedly killed 2 students

28 July

Suspected cultists murdered a father and son in MAKURDI, BENUE State and then attempted to burn the property. Locals alleged that one of the deceased’s other sons is a member of a cult group

29 July

Gunmen mounted on motorcycles attacked vigilante offices in ALABAR, KUNDAY Ward, UKUM LGA, BENUE State killing 5 members

30 July

Police in NASARAWA Sate allegedly shot striking workers outside State House LAFIA, killing 1 and wounding 3

The abductors of Cleric ALAOWEI have allegedly demanded a ransom of N20m from his wife, later reduced to N10m

13 prisoners escaped from KOTON KARFE Medium Prison, OPAREKE KOTON KARFE LGA, KOGI State around 7.00am by breaking down a wall after they were released into the exercise area, 1 was rearrested almost immediately. The 180 capacity prison (currently holding 25) has seen 2 previous escapes in the last 3 weeks

24 July

Gunmen attacked a village in KOLOFATA Arrondissement, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region around 11.00pm withdrawing an hour later when the Camerounian Army attacked

25 July

Gunmen beheaded a 60 year old man who was the last remaining resident of TCHEBE TCHEBE, MAYO MOSKOTA Canton, MAYO TSANAGA Department. GOLEDJE, HODOGO, TALAGOZELE, KAMDJIDJI, GOUZDA-VREKET, HOURBETCH and MOULDGO Villages in MAYO MOSKOTA have all been abandoned

26 July

Camerounian Security Forces recovered over 4,000 cattle, sheep and goats in TAGAWA, XXX DEAPT, from cattle rustlers

The Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad ZARIF met President BUHARI in ABUJA and offered support in the fight against Boko Haram. He also met Senate President Bukola SARAKI and Foreign Minister Geoffrey ONYEAMA

28 July

The new UK Minister for Africa Tobias ELLWOOD stated the UK will continue to support NIGERIA’s campaign against Boko Haram

29 July

The Kingdom of MOROCCO has donated unspecified military and security equipment to NIGER Republic as a gesture of support for the campaign against Boko Haram

30 July

NIGER Republic has extended the State of Emergency in DIFFA Region for 3 more months

    Oga Peccavi, I am really curious what kind of meaningless equipment did Morocco donate to Nigeria and why now ?I have my own cynical answers (Return to AU,Polisaro front, possible war with Algeria).
    I hereby await a donation from Algeria ….aah we have fallen low and hard 😢 Cry the beloved Country.
