NEMA has signed a deal with CAMEROUN and UNHCR for up to 80,000 refugees to return to NIGERIA voluntarily and in a dignified manner

12 June

Gunmen attacked 121 TF Bn, 26 TF Bde positions in PULKA, GWOZA LGA, BORNO State with small arms and VBIEDs from the direction from the BANKI axis of SAMBISA Forest but were defeated with  enemy killed and 5 friendly wounded. Recovered were 1 x FN FAL, 148 x 7.62mm (NATO) link, 1 x loaded FN magazine.3 x VBIEDs were destroyed in a controlled explosion

13 June

Elements of NSCDC detained a suspected Boko Haram member Garba THLAMA MUSSA in ASKIRA UBA LGA, BORNO State and handed him over to 115 TF Bn who handed them over to the Joint Intelligence Committee.

478 malnourished children have been moved from BAMA IDP Camp and 61 hospitalised in MAIDUGURI. 196 women and 23 men were also malnourished and relocated

14 June

Elements of 114 TF Bn, 28 TF Bde conducted a fighting patrol to dominate the area and secure IZGE-BITTA Road, ASKIRA UBA LGA, BORNO State, during which they liberated 10 men, 14 women and 19 children who stated they escaped from enemy camps in MADUBE

115 TF Bn, 28 TF Bde supported by vigilantes conducted fighting patrols towards PEGANA, JOMA, WAMBIYAR, DILLE, PUMPUM, ZAH, MIYA and PUGULA, ASKIRA UBA LGA.

Elements of 117 Bn conducted patrols in the vicinity of MUBI NORTH and MUBI SOUTH LGA, ADAMAWA State

Elements of 13 Bn conducted patrols towards BEBEL, FATTUDE, TEDDEI, HYAMBULA and SUKUR, MADAGALI LGA, ADAMAWA State

Elements of 3Bn, 22 Bde conducted foot and vehicle patrols towards DIEMA, TATAKURA and KALA Villages, KALA BALGE LGA, BORNO State engaging the enemy killing 2 and recovering certain weapons

22 Bde Garrison supported by elements of NIGERIA Customs Service conducted patrols along DIKWA-MAFA-MAIDUGURI Road

21 members of the NIGERIA Immigration Service have deployed to DIKWA, DIKWA LGA, BORNO State after undergoing training at 22 Bde Garrison HQ on mines and IED awareness

Elements of 22 Bde Garrison intercepted 3 men, 3 women, 6 boys and 2 girls going from DIKWA to CHINGOWA Village and were handed over to the DIKWA IDP Coordinator for further screening

Gunmen ambushed an supply convoy 12km away from GWOZA, GWOZA LGA, wounding 3 soldiers and 13 civilians, who were evacuated to 21 Bde Medical Reception Station

Gunmen mounted on 6 motorcycles attacked KUTUVA (KAU TUVA) Village, near CHIBOK, CHIBOK LGA, BORNO State around 5.00am killing 4 people and burning properties. 4 women were also abducted. Vigilantes from KAYA trailed the gunmen to a camp to the south of SABON GARIN BALE, where they engaged them destroying their camp, capturing at least 2 x sets of webbing, 3 x FN FAL magazines, 2 x AK 47 magazines and 24 x 7.62mm (NATO) rounds. They also rescued an 11 year old girl who stated she as from BATHA Village

A combined patrol of 7 Div Garrison, 101 Special Forces Battalion and Civilian JTF intercepted a VW Golf in the vicinity of KAYAMALA, JERE LGA, BORNO State carrying spare parts and IED components, the occupants fled into the bush upon sighting the patrol

Approximately 10,000 IDPs rescued from MAFA and MARTE were placed in a newly constructed camp on MAIDUGURI-DIKWA Road

Elements of 155 TF Bn, on Op Crackdown conducted clearance operations in KIRCHA DUNGUS Village, BAMA LGA killing 4 enemy and rescuing 4 women and a child. Also recovered were a military style uniform, a water pump and generator

Elements of 153 TF Bn, 8 TF Div deployed to a FOB in OLD MARTE, MARTE LGA, BORNO State and conducted fighting patrols to NEW MARTE.

15 June

The NSCDC is to train 1,000 private security guards from 30 private security companies in BORNO State

Elements of 156 TF Bn, 29 TF Bde on patrol engaged the enemy in the vicinity of ABALAM, KAGA LGA, BORNO State southwest of ALAGARNO Forest, defeating them and capturing 4 x dane guns, 3 x bows and 114 arrows in 5 packs. 7 men, 13 women and 27 children were rescued and moved to an IDP camp in MAIDUGURI

Elements of 7 Div Strike Group Team B attached to 21 Bde cleared MULFATA, BAIBAWA, JENERE, BEMBEM, MAKSAMARI, BULA KAFIE and BULA BODI, north of KUMSHE, KALA BALGE LGA, BORNO State, defeating the enemy at JENERE, killing 2 and wounding others and clearing an enemy camp in the vicinity of JENERE-HAUSARI, where they found huts camouflaged with shrubs, motorcycles, 2 x dane guns, food stuffs and solar panels, as they moved on to BEMBEM, and enemy ambush resulted in 1 x soldier wounded. In MAKSAMARI an enemy communication device was recovered, which yielded intelligence

Elements of 153 TF BN conducted fighting patrols towards GUDUSURI, MALALEWA, KHADAMARI, RUNDI and MUGU, MAGUMERI(?) LGA, BORNO State recovering 5 vehicles, 6 motorcycles and 1 enemy flag

Elements of 242 Bn deployed to a FOB at GAJIGANA, MAGUMERI LGA, BORNO State and conducted a patrol towards GONI KANUBARI Village with vigilantes. Another element deployed to a FOB at GAJIRAM, NGANZAI LGA, conducting patrols towards GALLE Village

Elements of 157 TF Bde, 7 Bde conducted fighting patrols

Vigilantes in DAMBOA LGA, BORNO State intercepted several suspected Boko Haram members along NJABA Road, south of DAMBOA Town who stated they were forced conscripts looking to surrender. 17 were identified as hard-core Boko Haram members.

16 June

Elements of Sector 5, 27 TF Bde, 3 Div supported by MAIDUGURI CJTF vigilantes detained a suspected Boko Haram ‘Amir’ Ibrahim JAGWAL (38 years old) in GASHIWA DABUA Area, POTISKUM, YOBE State. JAGWAL is alleged to be ‘Amir’ of a group in TUMBIN GINI, ABADAM LGA, BORNO State. He reportedly led to the arrest of another suspect Audu AHMADU (aka CONDEMNED, 45 years old) in GAREJIN AUDU, POTISKUM, who was reportedly a mechanic who repaired Boko Haram vehicles, 2 vehicles for repair were recovered at his garage.

BORNO State SEMA delivered 156 trailers of relief supplies to IDPs in BAMA LGA, BORNO State

Gunmen mounted on motorcycles attacked KUDA, MADAGALI LGA, ADAMAWA State 3km from GULAK near MADAGALI Town from the direction of IZGE, GWOZA LGA, BORNO State around 5.00pm, killing at least 24 women at a funeral, wounding at least 10 others, burning houses and looting food stuffs

The CAS AM Sadique ABUBAKAR stated the NAF is to deploy more personnel to the North East, whilst commissioning accommodation projects at NAF KANO. He also statetd that NAF Special Forces had been deployed to 339 Base in KANO to defend the base and MALAM AMINU KANO International Airport

17 June

2 suspected PBIEDs were shot by vigilantes in near CBN Staff Quarters, KUSARI, MAIDUGURI, BORNO State around 6.45am, after locals challenged them. Their devices were made safe by the Army

The NAF has launched Op Gama Aiki to support the MNJTF bolstering 79 Composite Group with 3 x Alphajets supporting operations in the vicinity of MONGUNO, with interdiction patrols and close air support. 3 x Mi-17 helicopters will operate in the vicinity of BAGA, KUKUWA LGA and DIFFA Region

A suspected senior Boko Haram member was arrested in GOMBI, GOMBI LGA, ADAMAWA State as he attempted to withdraw money at a Bank ATM, after being spotted by a policeman who then trailed him in disguise

19 June

The NSCDC BORNO State Commandant stated Ibrahim ABDULLAHI stated they had discovered an Arabic language book ‘The Guduma’ used to indoctrinate Boko Haram members  in an abandoned house in DIKWA LGA

14 June

The alleged abductors and killers of Col Samaila INUSA were arraigned on charges of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, illegal possession of firearms, kidnapping and culpable homicide at Chief Magistrate Court 1, IBRAHIM TAIWO Road, KADUNA, KADUNA State and remanded in custody until 21st July. A fifth suspected Dan SOKOTO was charged in absentia

16 June

The COAS Lt Gen BURATAI addressed the graduating class of the Junior Course of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, JAJI, stating that NIGERIA was using a manouverist approach to the conflicts in the North East and Niger Delta. Innovations included the induction of the motorcycle battalion

18 June

A patrol team from ABON TASHA Division, KADUNA State Police Command arrested 4 suspected armed robbers after responding to a distress call from a lady at KAKAU Overhead Bridge

A land dispute between two Bogom and Tarok farmers in WASE TOFA, LAMBA District, WASE LGA, PLATEAU State led to the deaths of 2 people.

The NASARAWA State Police Command paraded 15 suspected criminals including 5 university students and a traditional ruler accused of armed robbery and car theft, recovering 132 x 7.62mm (AK), 1 x bulletproof vest, 2 x axes and 1 x cutlass from the traditional ruler

Gunmen abducted a customary Court Judge Ishaq USMAN along the KUROKO-ITAKPE Road, OKEHI LGA, KOGI State around 3.00pm killing his police orderly and wounding his driver

14 June

16 June

The Director Defence Information Brig Gen Rabe ABUBAKAR stated the military will rehabilitate repentant Boko Haram members through Op Safe Corridor, in order to rehabilitate, reintegrate, empower and deradicalise those surrendered and captured

17 June

Suspected nomadic gunmen attacked DUSA and JUN Villages, TURAN Ward, LOGO LGA, BENUE State at night killing 10 people and displacing others to UGBA and ABEDA SHITILE Market

18 June

Elements of 33 Artillery Bde conducted a fighting patrol from FOB NINGI towards DUTSEN DUMBURUM, NINGI LGA, BAUCHI State following intelligence and tips from the public about kidnappers and cattle rustlers in the area. The suspects were engaged in a firefight resulting in 3 female hostages rescued, 3 suspects killed, 2 x AK47, 2 x locally made weapons, 1 x double barrelled dane gun, 68 x 7.62mm AK, 4 x AK 47 magazines, 2 x motorcycles and 2 x mobile phones were captured

Suspected nomadic gunmen attacked GABO and NENZEY Villages, TURAN Ward, LOGO LGA, around midday killing 6 people

Media reports state that the attacks on BOSSO were led by a Camerounian Bana BLAACHERA, who has risen to a leadership position since the Nigerian offensive.

12 June

The bodies of 42 fishermen abducted on 8 June from DARAK were pulled from Lake CHAD by Camerounian authorities

13 June

Media reports state that Boko Haram has been sending out radio broadcasts on 96.8FM in the vicinity of TOLKOMARI broadcasting nasheeds and giving reports of their operations, in 2 hour broadcasts. They have also broadcast on 103., 91 and 106.1FM

14 June

Nigerien President Mahamadou ISSOUFOU met French President HOLLANDE in the ELYSEE Palace, PARIS, FRANCE and French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc AYRAULT and Defence Minister Jean-Yves LE DRIAN to request further operational and logistic support in the fight against Boko Haram

4 bodies including 2 vigilantes from MALOUMRI-KOLOFATA, were discovered in TALAMADE, near KOLOFATA, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region

16 June

Gunmen mounted in vehicles attacked N’GAGAM, DIFFA Region, 40km north of DIFFA, NIGER Republic, overrunning a police post and killing 7 gendarmes and wounding 12 capturing arms and ammunition. The nearby IDP camp had just received a Ministerial Visit

17 June

Boko Haram claimed responsibility for the attack on the N’GAMGAM, displaying weapons, ammunition and equipment captured on social media

18 June

Nigerien Interior Minister Mohammed BAZOUM stated that there were no Chadian troops in DIFFA Region, he claimed they were in NIGERIA not NIGER

Camerounian security forces arrested Blama HESSENA the Chief of DAMBORE ARDEDE, FOTOKOL Arrondissement, LOGONE ET CHARI Department, EXTREME NORD Region on suspicion of supplying food to Boko Haram
