Elements of 81Bn and 251 TF Bn, 25 Bde ambushed enemy fighters mounted on motorcycles fleeing SAMBISA Forest towards ALAGARNO in the vicinity of FULAWANI Village, BORNO State killing 5 and capturing 5 x motorcycles, 9 x bicycles, 80 x pairs of slippers, soap and other laundry items, polythene bags and mats. A group of women and children previously detained leaving the forest were assessed to be an advance party of wives and children of the dead men

Gunmen attacked ALAU, JERE LGA, BORNO State killing 30 Fulani, abducting women and children and abducting cattle

25 April

Elements of 22 Bde Garrison and 3 Bn conducted long range patrols towards GIMA Village, NGALA LGA, BORNO State, apprehending 2 suspected enemy dressed in a ‘green uniform’. The patrol also recovered 1 x camouflaged Isuzu Canter lorry, 5 x motorcycles, 2 x bags of guinea corn, 3 x dane guns, 1 x solar panel, 3 x bow and arrows

Elements of 7 Bde, 8 TF Div conducted clearance operations in the vicinity of GRATTE, KUKAWA LGA, BORNO State, killing 7 enemy, including an alleged Amir known as ALBANI of MONGUNO, capturing 2 x vehicles, 7 x motorcycles, 1 x AK 47, 3 x tyres, 1 x vulcanizing machine, 1 x solar panel, bundles of Aswaki hewing stick

27 April

Elements of 22 Bde conducted a patrol towards AJIRI and ANTUL Villages, DIKWA LGA, BORNO State along DIKWA-GULULAMBAGANA Road upon hearing explosions in the morning. They engaged enemy forces in the village detaining 3 adults and 2 children who maintained a food cache in the village to supply BAMA. Recovered were 1 x truck, 2 x mud covered VW Golf cars, 4 x bicycles, 3 x 5kva generators and 55 bags of corn

Commander MNJTF, Gen Lamidi ADEOSUN stated the $250m pledged to the MNJTF at the AU Summit was yet to be redeemed, stating they had received only communication equipment and 11 vehicles

28 April

Soldiers from 158 TF Bn based in GUBIO LGA, ADAMAWA State complained to journalists that they had not received their allowances after ECOWAS service in GUINEA BISSAU 2014-15. The Arm stated that all outstanding allowances had been paid by Tuesday 26th April and anyone not in receipt was due to having not provided correct account details or completed BVN

Soldiers captured 6 suspected enemy logisticians in KALA BALGE, KALA BALGE LGA, BORNO State including Musa Kalile SABAKARA (Amir), Babagana JOHN (food seller an informant), Isah ABAKAR (Amir), Usman ABASA (cattle rustler and food seller), Bukar GUJJA (tailor) and Bukar KAHALIFA (tailor)

Elements of 7 Div Strike Group B attached to 22 Bde conducted fighting patrols towards BOGORO, DUGUNO 1, DUGUNO 2 and DUGUNO 3, BAMA LGA, BORNO State, however they came into contact in the vicinity of MBARAKA defeating the enemy and pushing into JADDA Village killing 4 and discovering a pit full of decomposing forces, freeing several hostages and recovering 1 x AK 47, 30 x 7.62mm (AK) rounds, 12 x 7.62mm (NATO) rounds, 14 x dane guns, 2 x solar panels, 120 litres x petrol and packs of Panadol. 1 soldier was wounded

29 April

Elements of 7 Div Strike Group B attached to 22 Bde conducted fighting patrols towards YERWA and KALUKETU, DAMBOA LGA, BORNO State in support of operations in SAMBISA Forest, clearing an enemy camp known as ABUJA Town where stolen cattle were kept, killing 4 enemy and recovering 2 x AK 47, 29 x 7.62mm (AK) rounds, 1 x dane gun, 1 x bow and arrow, 2 x laptops, 6 x mobile phones, 1 x truck and 5 x motorcycles

30 April

Elements of 3Bn, 22 Bde conducted a fighting patrol towards TATAKURA Village, 20km south west of WUMBI, KALA BALGE LGA, BORNO State following intelligence about a planned attack, engaging the enemy in a firefight killing 9 and capturing 3 x AK 47, 1 x FN FAL, 1 x GPMG, 1 x 60mm mortar barrel, 1 x RPG launcher, 1 x RPG7 round, 3 x 60mm bombs, 2 x motorcycles 1 x Energa grenade, 11 x G3, 7 x FN FAL magazines, 108 x 7.62mm (??) rounds. 6 friendly troops were wounded

Elements of 3Bn, 22 Bde captured an IED making facility in NGALA, NGALA LGA, BORNO State, killing several enemy and capturing 20 x gas cylinders, detonators, gun powder, electric wires and tape recorders

Elements of 231 Bn, 331 Bn and Armed Forces Special Forces Bn supported by vigilantes cleared DOKSA Village, DAMBOA LGA, BORNO State clearing DOKSA 1, DOKSA 2, DOKSA 3 and SABON GARIN DOKSA. The troops then shelled enemy positions in BUGA DAM, GOLGORE and LARISKI Villages. Troop recovered 1 x pick up van, several bicycles, several motorcycles, drugs, foodstuff, books, 3 x Toyota Hilux tyres, 1 x laptop, 2 x mini laptop, 4 x dane guns, 1 x blood pressure monitor, 3 x rifles magazines, a large quantity of ammunition, 1 x Nokia phone and SIM cards. 4 women and 2 children were rescued

7 suspects from the Garkuwa gang who specialised in kidnapping for ransom were arrested in various parts of KANO State (4 in DOGUWA LGA, 1 in KIBIYA LGA, 1 in SUMAILA LGA and 1 in TUDUN WADA LGA). The gang members are allegedly Senegalese and Camerounian Fulani who target Nigerian Fulani. using motorcycles to strike in the early hours of the morning in DOGUWA, TUDUN WADA, SUMAILA, RANO and KIBIYA LGA, KANO State. The gang allegedly abducted over 100 people, and also demanded protection money from others.

Fighting between suspected cultists in IDAH LGA, KOGI state resulted in 13 dead

24 April

Gunmen abducted a set of 20 year old twins from an Ekeson Bus if the vicinity of KABBA near OBAJANA, LOKOJA LGA , KOGI State as they were travelling from LAGOS to ABUJA for a talent contest, an initial ransom demand for N6m was increased to N10m the next day.

25 April

The kidnappers of the Very Rev John ADEYI from OTURKPO, BENUE State requested a N25m ransom

The 3 abducted OSUN State officials have been released in KOGI State

26 April

Suspected Shomo militants attacked BALASA and 2 other Wurkum Villages, KARIM LAMIDO LGA, TARABA State killing 5 people

27 April

Approximately 50 suspected Fulani gunmen attacked OLOGBA, DEKINA LGA BENUE State on the border with NASARAWA State around 6.00pm

Brig Gen Rabe ABUBAKAR states that a joint operation is to be set up to combat Fulani herdsmen

The NSCDC KOGI State Command paraded 4 suspected pipeline vandals in LOKOJA, who were arrested with 20,000 litres of crude oil, 1 x speed boat and 2 x boat engines, 1 x pump and 3 x hoses. They were allegedly taking the crude to an illegal refinery

The set of twins abducted from the bus in KOGI state were released, it is not clear if the N10m ransom was paid

30 April

Suspected Agatu gunmen attacked ADAYI Village, NASARAWA LGA, NASARAWA State around 10.30am on boats across the River BENUE killing 20 people and 83 cows.

Op Safe Haven paraded 4 alleged gun runners in JOS, PLATEAU State, who were arrested in DU Village, JOS SOUTH LGA, PLATEAU State in an intelligence led operation. They were allegedly planning to assemble 6 x AK47s and resell for N400,000.00, a third female accomplice is at large
