The Chairman of the ADAMAWA State Hunters Association, Usman TOLA was arrested by the police in YOLA following the deadly clash between different factions in GOMBI. Members of the group threatened to withdraw from operations in retaliation.

Gunmen mounted in a vehicle attacked HUYUM, ASKIRA UBA LGA, BORNO State around 7.30pm with small arms, killing 1 woman and 1 girl

ADAMAWA State Governor Muhammadu Umaru JIBRILLA stated that 56,000 Nigerian refugees from CAMEROUN will be repatriated through the state

Gunmen ambushed a military convoy on the outskirts of KUMSHE, BAMA LGA, BORNO State around 10.30am as they drove from DARJEMEL to MAIDUGURI. The attack was initiated by IEDs detonating against 2 x Toyota Hiluxes, 2 other vehicles were damaged, 1 soldier killed and 13 wounded. The ambush was followed by a small arms attack which was repelled by the convoy, who observed the enemy appeared to have limited ammunition

16 March

Elements of 120 TF Bn cleared enemy camps in the vicinity of GOLGORE, YOBE State, killing an unspecified number of enemy and capturing 1 x APC (captured from BUNI YADI on 09 July 2015) in the dried river bed of the GOLGORE River. 1 soldier was wounded

Gunmen ambushed a patrol from 25 TF Bde along DAMBOA Road, the patrol defeated the ambush and elements of 81 Bn and 251 TF Bn, 25 TF Bde pursued the enemy off DAMBOA Road in the vicinity of KUMALA, DAMBOA LGA, BORNO State. 1 x enemy vehicle mounted with an AAA gun, detonated an enemy IED and was destroyed, killing 2 x enemy. 1 x GPMG, 2 x AK 47, 6 x IEDs, 43 x 7.62mm (NATO) link, 1 x mobile phone and 1 x enemy flag were captured.

2 x female PBIED attacked a mosque in MOLAI UMURARI, KONDUGA LGA, BORNO State around 5.00am killing 22(+ 5 later from injuries) people and wounding 18. The first disguised as a man detonated in the mosque. The second detonated about 50m away.

17 March

Maj Gen Lucky IRABOR has taken over command of Op Lafiya Dole from Maj Gen Umaru HASSAN in a ceremony at MAIMALARI Cantonment, MAIDUGURI, BORNO State

18 March

Dismounted gunmen attacked BORI, DAMBOA LGA, BORNO State around 8.30am with small arms and IEDs killing 5 people, stealing foodstuffs and burning the village. Soldiers and vigilantes counter attacked capturing 4.

The IGP, Solomon ARASE stated that 6,000 policemen are to begin deploying to the North East to restore civil authority along with the necessary logistic support.

NAF Spokesman Gp Capt Ayodele FAMUYIWA stated that NAF Alphajets conducted air strikes on enemy positions in the ALAGARNO Forest, YOBE State assessed to be a logistics node (fuel or ammo dump) by UAV overflights. Bomb Damage Assessment was also carried out by UAV. He also stated the NAF had carried out 14 ISR, 30 Interdiction/ CAS and 11 support missions this month

The YOBE State Emergency Management Agency has constructed 45 bathrooms and 45 toilets in 4 IDP camps KUKARETA (25 toilets, 25 showers), MUHAMMADU GOMBE Farms (10 toilets, 10 showers), ABARI (10) and KASAISA (20).

Elements of 25 TF Bde conducted an intelligence led night time ambush on a suspected PBIED mounted on a motorcycle in the vicinity of KUMALA and MUSAFANARI Villages, KONDUGA LGA, BORNO State killing the suspect and recovering 12 x IEDs, 1 x hijab, 1 x handbag and 1 x motorcycle

Police rescued a 70 year old herdsman from kidnappers in KIDAMDAM Village, GIWA LGA, KADUNA State. He was reportedly abducted 12 days ago from JANDA Village, DANJA LGA, KATSINA State and a N3m ransom demanded. 1 suspected kidnapper was killed and 1 arrested

IMN members allege that the Army is planning to attack its members in KATSINA and SOKOTO and accused the Army of being penetrated by Wahhabi elements

GOC 1 Div, Maj Gen Adeniyi OYEBADE stated Op Sharan Daji had resulted in 35 suspected armed criminals killed, 38 wounded, 49 camps destroyed and 6,009 animals recovered in the last 2 months. 31 Artillery Bde in NIGER State acted as a blocking force conducting fighting patrols around PANDOGARI-KUSHERKI, PANDOGARI-MAI KUJERI and GIDIGORI Roads to stop escaping gangs. 9 suspects killed, 16 arrested, 7 weapons recovered, 8 camps destroyed and 465 animals recovered in KADUNA State. 13 suspects killed, 19 arrested, 8 weapons recovered, 20 camps destroyed and 1,443 animals recovered in ZAMFARA State. 13 suspects killed, 4 arrested, 21 weapons including 3 x AK47s captured, 11 camps destroyed and 4,101 animals recovered in KANO and KATSINA States. 1 x Sergeant from 2 Bn was killed and 3 soldiers wounded

Police paraded an Islamic teacher Ahmed Hanif ABUBAKAR on suspicion of abducting a 3 year old boy in JOS, JOS NORTH LGA PLATEAU State and taking them to BAUCHI State. The suspect allegedly demanded a N250,000.00 ransom from the parents but was arrested when collecting the ransom.

15 March

Fulani herdsmen alleged that 150 cattle had been poisoned in TOTO LGA, NASARAWA State. The LG Chairman Mohammed MUSA convened a crisis meeting between the herdsmen and farmers to prevent violence.

Suspected Fulani gunmen attacked TOMBO, BURUKU LGA, BENUE State around 3.00pm killing 15 people and burning the village.

200 men from 31e BIM, 32e BIM and 33e BIM from NGAOUNDERE supported by an Air Force Mi 17, rescued 12 hostages from TCHABAL, MAYO BANYA Department, ADAMAOUA Region, killing 2 suspected kidnappers and capturing 2 x Galil rifles, AK 47 ammunition. The hostages were reportedly abducted on 12 March from TCHABAL NABOUL, TCHABAL MOUNGEL and SALTAKA VILLAGES, VINA Department, ADAMAOUA Region. 1 soldier was reported wounded. Majority of the 30 strong group of kidnappers (reportedly non locals, dressed in military style uniforms) escaped.

A suspected Boko Haram member was arrested in KERAWA, MAYO SAVA Department
