Situation Friendly Forces

01 November

A fighting patrol from 243 Bn, 5 Bde engaged enemy forces based in a Primary School in DUWABAFI Village, BORNO State killing 4 and capturing 2 x AK 47, 4 x solar panels, assorted narcotics and 5 x motorcycles

Police engaged cattle rustlers in FALGORE Forest, TUDUN WADA LGA, KANO State killing 2 suspects and recovering 441 cows and 80 sheep

02 November

NPF arrested 4 suspected cattle rustlers in GARAJI Village, TARMOWA LGA, YOBE State and recovered 6 cows and 19 sheep

Hajiya Hadiza MUHAMMED Vice Chairwoman North East Housing Reconstruction Initiative stated that the Federal Government stated it intended to build 300 housing estates totalling at least 10,000 houses for IDPs in ADAMAWA State

03 November

Elements of 115 Bn, 28 Bde conducted a 2 day clearance operation in MUTHAYO, DAGU KUMABZA, IZGE, UNWORO ZANGORE, KILEKASSA and PUMPUM, GWOZA LGA, BORNO State, killing 4 enemy and capturing 7 x Dane guns

The NSCDC PRO Abdullahi MAIRALI stated that the NSCDC had lost 2 members to the insurgency at a UN OCHA training programme in YOLA, ADAMAWA State

04 November

The YOBE State Police Commissioner paraded 2 farmers accused of murdering a herdsman and wounding another after his cattle destroyed their crops

Elements of 5 Bde cleared 5 enemy camps in the vicinity of HAUSARI and BARANGA, MARTE LGA, BORNO State, killing 2 and capturing 1 x female suspect, 2 x dane guns 1 x double barrel shotgun and 12 x motorcycles

Elements of 28 Bde patrolling between BITTA and YAMTEKE, BORNO State to block the enemy from entering SAMBISA Forest from LAGARAN FULANI, discovered and destroyed two IEDs

Elements of Op Yaki and the KAJURU Police Divisional HQ Anti Robbery Patrol Team recovered 145 cattle, 20 sheep and one donkey in LEBERE, KAJURU LGA, KADUNA State

The House of Representatives adopted a motion proposed by Johnson AGBONAYIMA (PDP, EDO) calling for an investigation by the House Committee on Defence into the delay in paying entitlements to fallen soldiers

05 November

BORNO State Commissioner for Education Inuwa KUBO stated that 2,500 shelters would be built for IDPs to free up public schools assisted by UNHCR

The Comptroller General of Customs Col Hameed ALI (rtd) stated that he was considering reopening Customs posts at GAMBORU NGALA and BANKI to combat arms smuggling and insurgency

Elements of 25 Bde conducted clearance operations in the vicinity of KOREDE, DAMBOA LGA, BORNO State capturing 3 motorcycles and assorted foodstuff and destroying suspected enemy Observation Posts (OPs) in high ground around KOREDE, troops are reportedly dominating the approaches to AZIR, WAJIKORO, DAMBOA and BIU

Col Tukur GUSAU Media Coordinator for Op Lafiya Dole states that the MCCC will open a Media Centre in MAIDUGURI, BORNO State to provide accurate real time information

2 x truckloads of DSS reportedly deployed to the former NSA Col Sambo DASUKI (rtd) house in ASOORO, ABUJA, FCT, alleging he has refused to appear before a committee to discuss a $2bn arms deal. Col DASUKI denied the allegation and stated he had been prevented from leaving the country for a medical check-up on Wednesday 4th November

06 November

ADAMAWA State has hired 500 hunters to join their local vigilantes operating in SAMBISA Forest according to State House of Assembly member for MADAGALI Emmanuel TSAMDU

Zone 3 Commander AIG Mohammed Jinjiri ABUBAKAR has ordered GOMBE, ADAMAWA and TARABA State Police Commands to patrol potentially volatile areas to forestall farmer/ herder violence until March 2016

07 November

Elements of 103 Bn, 21 Bde conducted a 23km wide clearance op in the vicinity of RIGAGA and other villages in BAMA LGA, BORNO State. 4 enemy camps in the vicinity of LAGARAN FULANI and ANGO BAYA Villages were destroyed, killing an unspecified number, capturing 2 x suspects, recovering IED making materials and freeing 6 women and 14 children

Elements of 28 Bde conducted a reconnaissance (presumably by force) to identify enemy blocking positions on the BITA YAMTEKE Road, GWOZA LGA, BORNO State clearing a camp at SASAWA capturing IED material such as 2 x gas cylinders 1 x Motorola Radio, 1 x Garmin GPS, detonator cords and 1 x RPG

04 November

Gunmen mounted on motorcycles attacked AZIR, DAMBOA LGA, BORNO State along BIU Road around 8.30pm stealing 2 vehicles, bicycles, goats, chickens, salt and other foodstuffs and burning the village. Only minor injuries were reported.

Situation External Forces

01 November

3 x suspected PBSIEDs attacked Chadian Army positions in BAMOU, LAC Region, 2 suspects were shot but 1 x PBSID detonated, wounding 11 villagers.

Gunmen then attacked Chadian positions in KAIGA KINGUIRYA, LAC Region losing 11 gunmen killed and one wounded and captured. 2 Chadians were reportedly killed

Gunmen attacked DASWAT VEKRET, MAYO MOSKOTA, EXTREME NORD Region losing several killed and killing a Camerounian soldier

02 November

A Nigerien Military vehicle was blown up by an IED near Lake CHAD in DIFFA Region, NIGER Republic killing 1 soldier

Russian Ambassador to NIGER, Alexey DOULOUY met Nigerien President Mahamadou ISSOUFOU in NIAMEY, NIGER Republic to ‘express solidarity’ in the fight against Boko Haram

The US Ambassador to CHAD stated that US military aircraft had deployed to the Sahel in late 2014 to provide ISR and logistics support to Chadian troops

03 November

The Governor of EXTREME NORD Region, CAMEROUN Midjiyawa BAKARI distributed metal detectors, microphones, binoculars, whistles, boots, torches, knives and other kit to 6 Divisional Officers for distribution to local vigilante groups

05 November

Nigerien forces state their attack helicopters conducted strikes against insurgent positions in the vicinity of DAGAYA Village, DIFFA Region and captured 20 other suspects

The Norwegian Refugee Council has begun relief operations in BORNO State providing aid in the areas of shelter, water, sanitation, hygiene and distribution of emergency supplies

Gunmen mounted on motorcycles attacked MANAWATCHI Village, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region, 4 km from KERAWA, setting it on fire

The US Ambassador to CAMEROUN Michael HOZA visited Camerounian President Paul BIYA in YAOUNDE, CAMEROUN

2 BIR soldiers were killed in a road traffic accident in WAZA Arrondissement, LOGONE ET CHARI Department, EXTREME NORD Region

06 November

The UN stated that Boko Haram attacks had forced 151 schools in DIFFA Region, NIGER Republic to close affecting 12,631 pupils

Gunmen attacked GAKARA, MAYO TSANAGA, burning it. Vigilantes in TOKOMARI, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region detained a suspected Boko Haram member

Gunmen attacked HOMEKA, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region killing 2 civilians including a vigilante. They also attacked AMCHIDIRE around 9.00pm burning several houses

6 suspected Boko Haram members were killed in the vicinity of GASSAMA, ZIGUE, LOGONE ET CHARI Department, EXTREME NORD Region by IEDs they reportedly had just laid

Gunmen attacked AISSA HARDE, MORA Arrondissement, MAYO SAVA Department stealing medicines and food aid

07 November

Gunmen attacked ZIGUE, LOGONE ET CHARI Department, EXTREME NORD Region killing 2 civilians

Chadian forces have withdrawn from CAMEROUN
