Situation Friendly Forces

19 September

Police attached to Op Yaki engaged armed robbers in GWANDU Road, KADUNA, KADUNA State, killing one and wounding several others. They recovered 1 x AK 47 with police magazine and 1 x Berretta 9mm pistol.

20 September

The NAF has established a 50 bed hospital in DALORI, JERE LGA, BORNO State to cater for IDPs

The NSCDC has arrested 5 people smuggling 119 25itre jerry cans of petrol to NIGER Republic at TAKE TSABA, SABON BIRNI LGA, SOKOTO State. The suspects Nigerians Namanya ISA and Hassan RABI’U and Nigeriens Ilyasu MUSA, Suleiman ABDULSALAM and Rabi’u ADAMU.

21 September

The COAS Maj Gen TY BURATAI announced the promotion of 5,000 soldiers serving in Op Lafiya Dole

SOKOTO Police Command stated that they have arrested 13 cattle rustlers and recovered 320 cattle in TURETA, SABON BIRNI and ISA LGA, SOKOTO State

22 September

10 suspected Boko Haram gunmen surrender at KAWURI, KONDUGA LGA, BORNO State

The IGP Solomon ARASE stated that 4,000 policemen are on operations against Boko Haram under the command of a Deputy Commissioner of Police at the MCCC, MAIDUGURI, BORN State, whilst receiving the US Ambassador Daniel MOZENA

Elements of 7 Div have cleared several camps in the vicinity of BANKI, BAMA LGA, BORNO State liberating some people

Gangs from KWANDE LGA, BENUE State surrendered several weapons as part of the BENUE State Amnesty Programme

GOC 3 Div Maj Gen Hassan UMARU stated that a rotation of soldiers serving in YOBE State had begun.

Elements of 7 Div have cleared enemy camps in the vicinity of JANGURORI and BULATORI Villages, BAMA LGA, BORNO State, detaining 43 suspected Boko Haram members, including the alleged enemy Amir of BULAKURI, Bulama MODU. They also rescued 241 women and children, captured an AK 47, PKM, bladed weapons, IEDs, IED components and bows and arrows.

7 Div has restricted all movements in vehicles and on donkeys, horses and camels from 5.00pm Wednesday 23 September to Thursday 24 September for the Eid el Kabir Festivities

23 September

23 Bde in YOLA, ADAMAWA State has banned the use of Keke Napep tricycles during the Eid el Kabir Festival from 6.00pm Wednesday 23 September to 6.00pm Sunday 27 September 2015

Elements of 3 Div, rescued 4 hostages and captured a suspected Boko Haram fuel dump in LADU DUMBAWA Ward, GUZAMALA LGA, BORNO State following 3 abductees escaping and informing troops of the locations of the others. The troops also set up blocking positions on the route to BABANGIDA, TARMUWA LGA, YOBE State, which is an enemy supply route

Elements of 7 Div detained a suspected Boko Haram member Aji GAMBO in WUDLA Village, BORNO State, who allegedly stated that the PBSIEDs who attacked KERAWA and KOLOFATA, EXTREME NORD Region, CAMEROUN were from DARA JAMEL Village, BAMA LGA, where the devices were made by Abdulrahman ALKALI ISA, Ba’ana HISUBA and Alkali Isa KARAMI, who he claimed had moved to SUMBULUM Village

24 September

135 suspected Boko Haram gunmen surrendered in BIU LGA, BORNO State

Elements of 7 Div supported by the NAF have captured BANKI, BAMA LGA, BORNO State, clearing 7 enemy camps and destroying 7 IEDs in controlled detonations and finding and destroying 13 IEDs between DAREL JAMAL and BANKI. Several gunmen were reportedly captured and killed. Camerounian forces reportedly provided support

An alleged senior Boko Haram gunman was detained between PULKA and GWOZA, GWOZA LGA, BORNO State as he tried to rejoin his family

The NSCDC has deployed over 3,000 personnel to protect the populace for Sallah in KADUNA State

25 September

The Army stated that over 200 suspected Boko Haram gunmen had surrendered in the vicinity of BANKI, BAMA LGA, BORNO State

26 September

19 September

Gunmen mounted on bicycles attacked NGORONGORO, KONDUGA LGA, BORNO State near KAYAMLA, 13km southeast of MAIDUGURI killing 6 people with bladed weapons after infiltrating disguised as returning farmers and snatching fleeing villagers

21 September

3 x IEDs detonated in MAIDUGURI, BORNO State around 7.20pm killing at least 54 people and injuring at least 90. 1 x PBSIED detonated near a mosque in AJILARI District and the other two near a TV viewing centre in GOMARI District.

1 x PBSIED detonated at a checkpoint at the market in MONGUNO, MONGUNO LGA, BORNO State killing 27 people and wounding 62 around 9.00pm.

22 September

Suspected Fulani gunmen attacked ALLAWA Village, SHIRORO LGA, NIGER State killing the Village Head a police inspector and 33 other villagers, wounding several others and burning up to 25 houses in the 2 hour attack.

23 September

Gunmen attacked SABON GARI, KAFIN HAUSA and BAKIN DUTSE, MADAGALI LGA, ADAMAWA State killing several returnees and burning over 5 houses in a 3 day attack

Gunmen attacked a Honda Civic car in OGAMINANA, ADAVI LGA, KOGI State around 10.00am, killing 2 policemen and 2 bank staff and stealing N25m along a bad stretch of road

24 September

Gunmen kidnapped a farmer and businessman Iorbee AUDA around 8.30pm from his house in IHUGH Town, VANDEIKYA LGA, BENUE State. The kidnappers called the next day with a ransom demand of N50m

25 September

Gunmen attacked DSS HQ, LOKOJA, KOGI State with small arms and IEDs around 9.45pm, killing a policeman, losing 3 attackers and freeing 30 suspects. The attackers used an articulated vehicle to block access roads to the site. A combined police and Army team responded around 10.30pm, repelling the attackers in a 7 hour firefight. 2 of the attackers hid in a flat in OTOKITI Housing Estate, where they were arrested.

Gunmen mounted on Toyota Hiluxes and motorcycles attacked MAILARI, KONDUGA LGA, BORNO State, killing 20 people and wounding several others

18 September

Camerounian security forces acting on a tip off discovered suicide belts, bladed weapons, military style clothing, spears and other materials in a Nissan parked in MROUARE District, GAROUA, xxx Region, CAMEROUN. The vehicle is allegedly owned by Brahim MENOUMOUR, a 37 year old former Master Sergeant in the Camerounian Army, who claims to be the Sultan of KOBRO in BLANGOUA, LOGONE ET CHARI, Department, EXTREME NORD Region, CAMEROUN and had offered to act as a go between in negotiations between Boko Haram and the Camerounian government in the past particularly during the abduction of Chinese workers

22 September

Gunmen attacked AMCHIDE, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Department, CAMEROUN, in two waves losing 11 gunmen.

20 September

A female PBSIED detonated at a checkpoint near the Stadium in MORA, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region around 6.30am when a policeman saw her and 5 suspects, a male PBSIED fled and detonated about 500m away. 5 people were killed and wounding 4. 3 other suspects fled

24 September

Approximately 12 gunmen attacked N’GOURTOUA, DIFFA Prefecture, DIFFA region, NIGER Republic killing 15 people including the Village Chief and 4 Nigerian refugees, wounding 4 and burning xx houses. The village is on the ban of the KOMADOUGOU YOBE River bordering NIGERIA

25 September

President Barack OBAMA directed the US Secretary of State to authorise $45m worth of defence materiel, services and training to support BENIN, CAMEROUN, CHAD, NIGER and NIGERIA to defeat Boko Haram. Services include, airlift and other logistic support.
