13 September

The Army states that ‘dozens’ of Boko Haram had surrendered. Specific numbers, dates and locations were not given

14 September

Chief Ambrose IYORTYER a traditional ruler from USHONGO, USHONGO LGA, BENUE State, led a group of youths to surrender an unspecified number and type of automatic and locally made rifles and pistols, grenades and ammunition to the BENUE State Amnesty Committee at Government House , MAKURDI, BENUE State. Their spokesman Liambee ADEEDE promised they would no longer engage in criminal activities

President BUHARI started a 3 day visit to FRANCE at the invitation of French President Francois HOLLANDE to discuss bilateral defence, trade and investments with the French Defence and Foreign Affairs Ministers amongst others. President HOLLANDE stated that FRANCE would aid the MNJTF with intelligence gathering and equipment and would invest 130m Euros in infrastructure. The delegation incudes the NSA Babagana MONGUNO

An explosion killed a 9 year old cattle herder and 3 cows in ANGUWAN SHEKARAU, KACHIA LGA, KADUNA State. It is believed a cow stepped on an object causing he explosion. The area is near a military firing range.

Elements of 7 Div supported by the NAF attacked in the vicinity of BANKI, KUMSHE and BAMA clearing enemy camps at BOLUNGU 1, BOLUNGU 2, BULA DOYE and CHEEHI DARE, KONDUGA LGA, BORNO State capturing a bridge between MIYANTI and BANKI. Several women and children were liberated

15 September

President BUHARI stated that Boo Haram wanted a captured IED maker in exchange for the GSS CHIBOK abductees, whilst at a Q&A with members of the Nigerian Diaspora in FRANCE

16 September

Elements of 7 Div have intercepted foodstuffs allegedly being taken to enemy forces in KORODE in the vicinity of DAMBOA, DAMBOA LGA, BORNO State along AZIR-WAJIROKO Road. 33 suspects were detained, who claimed to be traders but admitted supplying food to Boko Haram.

Elements of 7 Div have cleared IEDs from KORODE Road in the vicinity of SANDIA Village, xxx LGA, BORNO State

The Army states that elements of 7 Div have rescued an unspecified number of men, women and children in the vicinity of BUDUWA, BAMA LGA, BORNO State

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp states it has arrested 9 suspected Boko Haram in FUFORE LGA, ADAMAWA State and another suspect in MUBI, ADAMAWA State amongst returned refugees from CAMEROUN

28 Task Force Bde, opened a 2 day Deradicalisation Programme in MUBI, ADAMAWA State. Commander Brig Gen V.O. EZUGWU, stated that over 200 Boko Haram suspects had been deradicalised since November 2014

BORNO State has set up a new Ministry for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement headed by Dr Babagana ZULUM former rector of RAMAT Polytechnic MAIDUGURI

The KADUNA State Command of the NDLEA has destroyed 12, 366kg of cannabis (12,352 Kgs), cocaine (0.63kg), heroin (0.57kg), Methamphetamine and other psychotropic substances (13.44kg) in KUFENA ZARIA, KADUNA State. Between January and June 2015 the Command arrested 89 persons for drug related offences and seized over 15 tons of drugs worth N100m

KADUNA State Police Command paraded alleged illegal arms manufacturers Isa YAHAYA, Zamani PETER, Baye TSWAN (all from MABUSHI, KAURA LGA) and Felix PAUL (from SAMARU, ZAGON KATAF LGA) in KAURA and ZAGON KATAF LGA, KADUNA State recovering 37 x locally made pistols, 11 x revolvers, 2 x dane guns and 34 x single barrel weapons. Also recovered were 1 x 7.62mm round, 3 x 5.556mm rounds, 2 x Generators, a box of locally made firearms parts, 4 x hand drills, 6 x electric drills, 3 x gas cylinders. Also paraded was Mrs Moji OLANGUNJO alleged to produce fake driving licences military and police identity cards for criminals

17 September

Elements of 7 Div raided a Business Centre in the POST OFFICE Area, MAIDUGURI, BORNO State following a reported confession by a captured suspect and detained the 2 operators Makinta UMAR and John ZAKARIYA for allegedly producing fake ID cards for Boko Haram.

Medcin Sans Frontiere states that 16 have been killed by cholera in 3 IDP camps and that up to 200 people have been admitted to MSFs 100 bed Cholera Hospital in MAIDUGURI, BORNO State

The Army rescued 15 men, 22 women and 40 children in the vicinity of BAMA and BANKI BAMA LGA and PULKA, GWOZA LGA, BORNO State

8 suspected Boko Haram members surrendered to elements of 21 Bde.

The Army spokesman states that military Engineers are repairing the bridge lining GAMBORU NGALA and MAIDUGURI

The Military has reopened a mixed sex Primary School in GWOZA, GWOZA LGA, BORNO State

Elements of 7 Div cleared DISSA and BALAZALA Villages, GWOZA LGA, BORNO State rescuing 23 men, 33 women and 34 children. Elements of 21 Bde advancing from BAMA intercepted suspected gunmen amongst IDPs in the vicinity of DARA JAMEL near BANKI

18 September

6 members of a militia group in USHONGO Town, USHONGO LGA, BENUE State were brought by their district Head to surrender 28 x AK 47s and 243 x 7.62mm rounds

CO 223 Bn, 1 Bde, operating under Op Restore Hope the anti cattle rustling effort in SOKOTO, KEBBI and ZAMFARA States reports they have arrested over 300 suspects

Op Lafiya Dole Theatre Commander Maj Gen Yusha’u ABUBAKAR, visited HQ, 75 Tactical Group NAF in YOLA, ADAMAWA State, as well as 28 Task Force Bde, MUBI, MUBI LGA and met civil society groups with the Department for Civil Military Affairs

An abducted University of MAKURDI lecturer, Prof. Emmanuel OGUNDELE was rescued by the police from OBI Division, NPF in LAFIA, LAFIA LGA, NASARAWA State. The hostage was allegedly shot in the leg by his captors as they made their escape, one was detained, 2 others escaped

19 September

Elements of 101 Bn and the NPF EOD discovered 2 x Bicycle Borne IEDs (BBIEDs) in AWAISARI Village, JERE LGA, BORNO State near ALAU Dam they were destroyed in a controlled explosion.

The Army cleared JERRE and DIPCHARI Village, BAMA LGA, BORNO State destroying enemy camps

An NPF patrol engaged a gang allegedly smoking cannabis and firing into the air behind Union Bank, GBOKO Town, GBOKO LGA, BENUE State, killing one and recovering a locally made pistol, live ammunition, mobile phone and a vehicle.

The Army cleared enemy camps in the vicinity of KOTAMBE KOTE and JERE, JERE LGA, BRNO State

Gunmen attacked 4 villages in FORON and FAN Wards, BARKIN LADI LGA, PLATEAU State around 9.30pm killing up to 15 people. The gunmen then reportedly moved to KADUNUNG, GINDIRI Ward killing up to 18 people and burning houses and displacing the populace

14 September

Suspected Fulani gunmen killed 11 Tiv people in DOOSHIMA and SARKIN KUDU, IBI LGA, TARABA State

Suspected Fulani gunmen attacked ZAKUPWANG Village, FORON Ward, BARKIN LADI LGA, PLATEAU State around 12.00am killing 20 people

15 September

Fulani gunmen attacked SERKIN GUDU, IBI LGA, TARABA State killing 9 Tiv people after the body of a Fulani man was allegedly found between SERKIN GUDU and DOOSHIMA Villages, IBI LGA after allegedly grazing his cows on a farmers crops

5 x armed robbers robbed a bank in NORTH BANK, MAKURDI, BENUE state robbing a man of N2m. They were pursued and cornered at BALCONY PARK Junction and engaged in a 30 minute firefight resulting in 2 captured

The Kidnapers of Sheikh Adam IDOKO (Chief Imam of UNN NSUKKA and Deputy Secretary General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs) have allegedly demanded a N20m ransom

16 September

3 Fulani herdsmen accused of murdering a farmer in GBEMI Village, LAPAI LGA, NIGER State have been handed over to the police. The farmer reportedly complained that their cattle were damaging his crops leading them to allegedly murder him with bladed weapons after which they were captured by local youths and handed over to the police.

Suspected Birom gunmen attacked KADUNUNG Village, MANGU LGA, PLATEAU State with small arms killing up to 20 people, reportedly burning 150 buildings and displacing 5,000

Suspected nomadic gunmen allegedly raped and murdered 4 Tiv women in ANANUM, TARABA State.

17 September

A 35 minute audio recording in Hausa and Arabic has been released via social media by SHEKAU’ disputing military claims of victory and sending greetings to Daesh

Sheikh IDOKO was released by his abductors in ENUGU, ENUGU State. The Police refused to comment on whether a ransom was paid

18 September

A Fulani herdsman allegedly murdered a Gbagyi farmer who had caught him raping a young girl in NITSEMWAMWA, KWALI Area Council, FCT. His kinsmen reportedly burnt some herdsmen’s settlement, displacing some Fulani’s to KWAITA Village

Camerounian Brig Gen Bo DOPE has taken command of 1 Sector MNJTF in MORA, EXTREME NORD Region, CAMEROUN

13 September

A young female PBSIED detonated near a well in KOLOFATA, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region, killing 3 people. The female was accompanied by 3 teenage boys and detonated the device when vigilantes were about to search her. A second young male PBSIED detonated near a church killing 4, 18 people were wounded in the attacks

15 September

Camerounian security forces arrested 4 suspected Boko Haram members in KERAWA, KOLOFATA Arrondissement, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region

16 September

Gunmen ambushed a convoy in the vicinity of NGOULMA, WAZA Arrondissement, LOGONE ET CHARI Department, on Route Nationale 1, between DABANGA and MALTAM   EXTREME NORD Region, CAMEROUN, killing 2 soldiers and destroying 4 vehicles. 1 gunman was reported killed

Amnesty International released a 76 page report in YAOUNDE, CAMEROUN, accusing Boko Haram and the Camerounian Armed Forces of Human Rights violations and urged the Camerounians to investigate the deaths of 25 prisoners, and the disappearance of 130 people.

17 September

Acting Commander 4RMIA Brig Gen Jacob KODJI was promoted from Col and given substantive command in MAROUA, EXTREME NORD Region, CAMEROUN.

Gunmen killed 3 herdsmen in the vicinity of WARAMI, LOGONE ET CHARI Department, EXTREME NORD Region, CAMEROUN and stole their cattle.

Gunmen attacked AISSA HARDE VILLAGE, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region around 11.00pm killing 9 people and burning property and foodstuffs

18 September

UNICEF states that 1.4m children have been displaced by the Boko Hara insurgency. 1.2m in NIGERIA (over half are under 5 years old) and 265,000 in CHAD, NIGER and CAMEROUN. They stated that 315,000 had been vaccinated against measles and arranged safe drinking water for 200,000 but only 32% of $50.3m pledged had been received.

NIGER Republic increased its 2015 budget by 53.4bn CFA Francs to cover costs of operations against Boko Haram.

19 September
