KANO State Police command stated they had arrested 2 suspected armed robbers who allegedly dressed in military uniform and operated along the KANO MAIDUGURI Road. Also recovered was a Honda Accord, $14,900 and 2 x iPhones

08 September

The NPF have arrested 15 suspected Yan Daba street criminals in RIJIYAR ZAKI Quarters, KANO, KANO State around 1.30pm recovering cannabis, Tramadol and other unspecified weapons

Elements of 3 Div captured narcotic and fuel supplies meant for Boko Haram, in the vicinity of DEPCHI and GEIDAM, GEIDAM LGA, YOBE State. The drugs included cannabis, chloroform (known as Suck and Die), Tramadol and others

09 September

Unknown assailants murdered the NAMNAI village and ward heads in the vicinity of NAMNAI Village, GASSOL LGA, TARABA State after they went to settle a dispute between herdsmen and farmers. Locals fled the area in fear of reprisals.

The COAS Lt Gen TY BURATAI and virtually every high ranking officer in theatre visited GAMBORU NGALA, NGALA LGA, BORNO State where Nigerian soldiers raised the Nigerian flag at the border between NIGERIA and CAMEROUN. In the evening thee COAS hosted a durbar with the troops and listened to their concerns. A T 72 MBT unit commander, Major Muhammed Abu ALI of the Armoured Corps, was decorated and given a field promotion to Lt Col for his courage and gallantry during ongoing operations.

The NPF is to deploy a specialist unit to FALGORE Forest, KANO State to combat armed bandits along KANO JOS Road

The Army handed over 124 Nigerians and 4 foreigners (109 men, 7 women and 12 boys) to Governor Kashim SHETTIMA of BORNO State in MAIDUGURI, BORNO State cleared of any involvement after investigation by the security forces

27 Task Force Bde paraded 16 Boko Haram suspects captured in different parts of YOBE State. Also captured with them were 8 x jerrycans of cooking oil, 16 x 25 litre jerrycans of petrol, 2 x bags of cannabis, 10 x bags of rice, 2 x bags of sugar, 12 x bags of millet, 6 x bags of potash and 12 x bags of fertiliser

DHQ states that all known Boko Haram cams have been destroyed

Elements of 3 Bde, 1 Bde, 1 DISFORCE, 31 Artillery Bde, 1 Div supported by the NAF, NPF, DSS and 1 Div HQQ. Under Op Restore Peace II conducted operations in DANMUSA, DANDUME, FUNTUA, FASKARI, SAFANA, SABUWA, BATSARI, KFUR, JIBIA and KANKARA LGAs, KATSINA State clearing 7 cattle rustlers camps in the FASFARI and SAFANA LGA killing 11 and capturing 39. Also captured were 19 x Dane guns, 1 x locally made pistol, items of military clothing, 3 x National ID cards, 2 x expired Passports, assorted charms and a pickup truck and 157 cows, 140 sheep, 19 goats and 6 donkeys.

BENUE and TARABA States are to set up a joint Border patrol team and boundary committee to monitor the situation on the states borders

10 September

1 Div PR Spokesman Col Usman ABDUL states that elements of 1 Div, NAF, DSS, NPF and Nigerian Customs Service conducted joint operations as part of Op Restore Peace II in KAMUKU/ KUYANBANA Forests in KADUNA, SOKOTO, ZAMFARA, KANO, KEBBI, KATSINA, JIGAWA State capturing 64 suspects, killing 10 and recovering 7,119 cattle, sheep and goats. In KADUNA 2,081 animals were recovered and 27 suspects detained with assorted weapons. In SOKOTO, ZAMFARA and KEBBI, 3,027 animals were recovered, 33 suspects arrested and 11 weapons captured. In KANO, KATSINA and JIGAWA States, 2,011 animals were recovered, 4 suspects arrested, 8 weapons recovered and 10 suspects killed

KANO State Police command raided a hotel behind MALAM AMINU KANO Teaching Hospital, KANO, KANO State believed to be the hideout of suspected armed robbers, three escaped to SHARADA Quarters and attempted to flee from there but engaged the police in a firefight resulting in 2 kiled and one escaped with an AK 47. The NPF recovered 1 x Mercedes Benz, 1 x BMW, fake ID cards, 1 x ‘English’ pistol (calibre/ type unknown) and assorted charms
