19 July

The COAS Maj Gen BURATAI renamed operations against Boko Haram Op Lafiya Dole (Peace is a must) whilst visiting 103Bn in KONDUGA, KONDUGA LGA, BORNO State.

The Army is offering free medical services in DAMATURU, YOBE State such as HIV test blood screening and consultations for blood pressure, hepatitis and diabetes

20 July

The BENUE State Police Command said it had arrested 14 people on suspicion of involvement in the assassination of Chief IHINDAN. One suspect had a bullet wound in the leg and was detained with an AK47 and 128 rounds of ammunition.

Vigilantes removed 12 suspected cult members from the Modern Market, MAKURDI, BENUE State

21 July

Security forces killed 3 and detained 8 suspected cattle rustlers and recovered 2,000 cows in a forest in DAMARI, BIRNIN GWARI LGA,KADUNA State

22 July

President BUHARI stated that the MNJTF would be ready for operations in 10 days

A Police patrol in the vicinity of BARA, GULANI LGA, YOBE State defeated several gunmen allegedly moving to attack the local market capturing 1 x GPMG, 2 x AK47 with x loaded magazines, 60 x rounds of ammunition (type unspecified), 1 x IED and 500 x 7.62mm NATO link

President BUHARI stated he was ready to negotiate to release the GSS CHIBOK abductees

Airstrikes by NAF Mi35 destroyed 2 x pick ups and 1 x truck with looted foodstuff as they crossed a bridge in the vicinity of BAMA, BAMA LGA, BORNO State

23 July

YOBE State Police Command paraded 7 suspected armed robbers who allegedly operated on NGURU- KANO Road robbing vehicles. 1 was arrested and led to the other 6, also recovered were a locally made pistol, bow and arrows, machetes and sticks

The Governors of YOBE and BORNO State allege that 5 LGAs are still controlled by Boko Haram

BORNO State Police have arrested a fake currency syndicate in MAIDUGURI, BORNO State. One of the forgers Adam AJID stated that the fake Naira were printed in CAMEROUN and smuggled into NIGERIA and that a N100,000.00 in fake N1000 notes cost N11,000 and were retailed at N16,000. The Mr AJID was arrested on 14 July with N4, 515, 000 of fake notes in FULATARI Ward, MAIDUGURI. The Camerounian contact Mallam ABDULLAHI is being sought

TARABA State Police Command arrested a kidnapper with 17 children (aged 8-12) in IBI LGA, TARABA State as he attempted to transport them across the River BENUE to PLATEAU State

24 July

The BORNO State Environmental Protection Agency has stated that it will employ 5,000 civilian JTF as street vanguards to enhance sanitation activities in MAIDUGURI to assist in cleaning public areas, preventing open air fouling and littering for a N10,000.00 monthly salary.

The Presidents spokesman Femi ADESINA released a statement clarifying that President BUHARI did not state that the US was aiding or abetting Boko Haram while speaking at the US Institute of Peace

Nigerian forces supported by Alphajets and surveillance aircraft liberated DIKWA, DIKWA LGA, BORNO State. Three enemy strong point with vehicle mounted AAA weapons were destroyed by airstrikes in the advance

Elements of 7 Div killed 8 x gunmen in the vicinity of DAMASAK, MOBBAR LGA, BORNO State, defusing 2 x IEDs and 6 x booby trapped properties

25 July

KADUNA State Governor bought 77 Toyota Hilux for the State Police Command and 50 motorcycles

20 July

An IED detonated in a Highlander jeep at an NPF VCP near the NNPC Mega Station on the outskirts of DAMATURU, YOBE State around 11.00am killing 3 x policemen and 5 of the 6 occupants and wounding 2 others. 2 x IEDs and 4 x 81mm mortars were found in the vehicle wreckage, a second SUV with a male and female contained an IED made of 6 x mortar bombs, the female/ male disguised as a female died at the scene.

Gunmen attacked BURATAI, BIU LGA, BORNO State with small arms around 3.30am murdering 2 young men with bladed weapons, wounding 8 and burning down most houses including that of the COAS.

Gunmen have been spotted in the vicinity of PULKA and LIMAN KARA, GOWZA LGA, BORNO States

21 July

A female PBSIED detonated at a military VCP in BIU, BIU LGA, BORNO State slightly injuring a female vigilante

Gunmen attacked a beer parlour in ANGUWAN DURUNG BARKIN LADI LGA, PLATEAU State killing 4 people

A 1 Div task force led by Brig Gen Samuel MALU has recovered 2,000 cattle, 127 rams, 1 donkey, killed 3 and detained 9 suspects as part of an anti cattle rustling operation in DAMARI, BIRNIN GWARI LGA, KADUNA, as part of the joint op with Army, DSS, NPF, NAF and NSCDC in the KAMUKU Forest between KADUNA, KEBBI, ZAMFARA, NIGER and KATSINA State.

22 July

A PBSIED detonated in DADIN KOWA Motor Park, GOMBE, GOMBE State around 7.00pm, a second PBSIED detonated outside the park at NASARAWO Junction between the mosque and the park and a third detonated at DUKKU Motor Park around 2 hours later. 35 people were killed and 105 injured in the attacks

Gunmen attacked POMPOMARI, BIU LGA, BORNO State around 9.00pm killing 8 people and wounding 13 as well as burning down several properties

Clashes between Birom and Hausa youth in BARKIN LADI LGA, PLATEAU State. Birom youths allegedly attacked a local Fulani politicians house, killing 1 and wounding 2, leading to a retaliatory attack by Fulani youth who ambushed some BIrom youth killing 3 and putting their bodies in a well

23 July

Approximately 4 gunmen abducted a Fulani woman and her child from BUZUNKURE Village, KUJE, FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY around 1.30am. The lady was the sister of a local man Gudu BALA who apparently had received threats but escaped the attack.

24 July

Gunmen mounted on at least 10 motorcycles attacked KOPA, MAIKADIRE and YAFFA Villages, MADAGALI LGA, ADAMAWA State around 9.00am killing 25 people. The attacks were reportedly in retaliation for the arrest of Boko Haram fighters from the village who were handed over to the police by locals

Gunmen mounted on 2 x pickup trucks and a motorcycle attacked KWATA MAI TAGARRI and YASA Villages near LASSA, ASKIRA UBA LGA, BORNO State around 6.30am killing 18 people, burning 5 properties and stealing 2 x vehicles and foodstuffs. The local insurgent leader was named as Jarrafu TIZZA

19 July

Approximately 80 gunmen attacked KAMOUNA, HILE ALIFA Prefecture, LOGONE ET CHARI Department, EXTREME NORD Region, CAMEROUN near Lake CHAD defeating The 7 Camerounian soldiers based there, killing 23 people, wounding 11 and burning over 300 properties.

20 July

21 July

Gunmen attacked KAFORAM, HILE ALIFA Prefecture, and (5km from KAMOUNA), LOGONE ET CHARI Department, EXTREME NORD Region.

22 July

2 x female PBSIEDs detonated in MAROUA, DIAMARE Department, EXTREME NORD Region, CAMEROUN killing 15 people and wounding 32. The first attacker was allegedly an early teen detonated at the entrance the Central Market around 2.30pm killing 12 and the second allegedly in her mid 20spretended to be a beggar/ hawker detonated in the HAUSA District killing 3

23 July

Camerounian security forces engaged in a security operation in MAROUA around 3.00pm detaining several people

The ban of full Islamic veil has been expanded to EST and LITTORAL Region, CAMEROUN

24 July

3 girls wearing explosive belts were detained in FOTOKOL, LOGONE ET CHARI Department, EXTREME NORD Region, as they crossed into CAMEROUN from NIGERIA

25 July

A female PBSIED detonated in a nightclub in PONT VERT District, MAROUA, DIAMARE Department, EXTREME NORD Region around 7.50pm killing up to 21 people and wounding 85

Camerounian police arrested 2 light skinned men in BRIQUETERIE District, YAOUNDE, CAMEROUN allegedly with a bag of explosives
