506 Nigerian refugees were received by ADAMAWA State Emergency Management Agency in YOLA, ADAMAWA State from MAKOLO Camp, CAMEROUN

The NPF detained 3 suspected Boko Haram members in the TERMINUS District of JOS NORTH LGA, PLATEAU State. The men allegedly arrived in a Honda Accord with tinted windows and were detained with multiple SIM cards

15 July

CO 72 Airborne Bn Col Timothy LAGBAJA stated that the battalion had incurred 28 fatal casualties since 2012, including 4 officers and 8 soldiers in BENUE State 2012-2015 and 16 in BORNO State

The Coordinator of Operation Yaki the KADUNA State security agency warned residents to be vigilant in case of impending attacks. The State Police Command cancelled all social events and closed amusement parks due to fears of terror attacks or attacks by criminal gangs Sura Suka and Masushara. The Emir of ZAZZAU cancelled the Sallah Durbar

Femi ADESINA (Presidential Spokesman) stated that the MNJTF would be ready by 21 July

The BORNO State government reviewed the daily curfew from 9.30pm to 6.00am to 5.00pm to 6.00am until 19 July. YOBE State Police Command banned vehicular movement from 6pm on Thursday 16 July to 2.00pm Friday 17 July

The BORNO and YOBE State Police Commands announced the closure of the MAIDUGURI- DAMATURU Road

The COAS Maj Gen BURATAI visited troops in DAMATURU, YOBE State for Eid el Fitr, arriving at the 27 August stadium by helicopter

The Nigerian military reopened the DAMATURU-BIU Road after IED clearance operations discovered at least 4 IEDs

10 July

Gunmen attacked KUKAWA, KUKAWA LGA, BORNO State around 5.30pm killing 3 soldiers and 7 elderly men and burning the town

Gunmen attacked KALWA, MONGUNO LGA killing 7 people and wounding 1 and stealing food and cattle and burning homes, they then attacked GWOLLAM, MISALA and MAGARAM killing 43 people

11 July

Gunmen attacked DANKYALI Village, MONGUNO LGA, BORNO State and burnt it after finding it deserted.

12 July

Cattle rustlers attacked KWATI, BASA and KAORE Villages, LAKPAN District, SHIRORO LGA, NIGER State stealing cattle and killing 3 vigilantes/ villagers and losing 8 rustlers killed

An IED detonated at the ECWA Church, TUNDUN WADA, JOS NORTH LGA, PLATEAU State around 8.00am lightly injuring a security guard. The guard reportedly spotted the device and threw it away from the building before it detonated. 3 other devices were found and destroyed in controlled detonation.

Gunmen attacked DAMASAK, MOBBAR LGA, BORNO State but were defeated by Chadian and Nigerien forces suffering 7 dead and several wounded.

13 July

Gunmen attacked occupied the MAIDUGURI-DAMATURU Road around 2.00pm and attacked MAINOK, KONDUGA LGA, BORNO State around 5.30pm killing up to 30 people and burning up to 30 vehicles and several properties and looting foodstuffs

Gunmen attacked MONGUNO, MONGUNO LGA, BORNO State killing 45 people

A male PBSIED detonated at a military checkpoint at NJIMTILO, AUNO LGA, BORNO State around 12.00pm killing himself and injuring one other person. The attacker reportedly boarded the vehicle along DAMATURU –MAIDUGURI Road

Gunmen attacked NJIMTILO, AUNO LGA, BORNO State with small arms in the evening hours after the earlier IED attack

Gunmen murdered the Tor Geri of KATSINA ALA, KATSINA ALA LGA, BENUE State

14 July

Gunmen ambushed a truck taking returnees to BAGA, KUKUWA LGA in the vicinity of GARIN GIWA, BORNO State (4km from BAGA) murdering 8 passengers

Gunmen attacked DAMASAK, MOBBARLGA, BORNO State killing 12 people and burning several properties. Chadian and Nigerien troops had withdrawn from the town to DIFFA, DIFFA Region, NIGER Republic

Gunmen mounted in 4 x Toyota Hilux set up a illegal VCP on the MAIDUGURI-DAMATURU Road in the vicinity of WARSALA, near NGAMDU, KAGA LGA, BORNO State killing 20 people and then moved on to NGAMDU from the GONIRI axis attacking it with small arms, IEDs and petrol bombs burning cars and properties. The insurgents were defeated by soldiers from JAKANA Village who pursued them into SAMBISA Forest inflicting heavy casualties

15 July

Gunmen attacked HAMBAGTHA and LIMANKARA, GWOZA LGA, BORNO State killing several people, burning properties and looting foodstuff and livestock

16 July

2 x IEDs detonated in Central market, GOMBE, GOMBE State around 5.30pm killing 50 people and wounding 70

Gunmen mounted on a motorcycle attacked a beer parlour in TOR DONGA, KATSINA ALA LGA, BENUE State robbing it and killing 12 people, a further 7 people were killed as the gang made their escapee

17 July

Gunmen mounted on motorcycles murdered 4 members of a family (Ternongo AJAI, Rebecca AJAI, Iyormanger NWANA and UJAH) in GBENGEN Village, UTANGE Ward, KATSINA ALA LGA, BENUE State around 8.00pm

3 x gunmen mounted on a motorcycle murdered a former politician Chief Atoza IHANDAN (PDP) and wounded his police escort in KATSINA ALA Town, KATSINA ALA LGA, BENUE State around 10.00am as he was inspecting a piece of land along KATSINA ALA- TAKUM Road. A suspect was allegedly arrested in a forest along KATSINA ALA- TAKUM Expressway in the vicinity of the head bridge of the KATSINA ALA River

2 x female PBSIED detonated near an Eid prayer ground in PHASE 1, DAMATURU, YOBE State. The first detonated around 6.15am killing 43 people, a second device detonated several minutes later in GWANG SABON PEGI Street, killing 7. The PBSIEDs were reportedly a pre teenage girl and elderly woman

Approximately 100 gunmen attacked KOFAR GWARI, KOKONA LGA, NASARAWA State with small arms around 1.30am killing 3 x vigilantes, 2 x civilians and wounding 2 others

Gunmen attacked SABON GARI and MANJAKWA Villages, HAWUL LGA, BORNO State with small arms and petrol bombs around 9.00pm killing at least 10 people, wounding several more, looting foodstuffs and burning several houses

18 July

2 x gunmen mounted on motorcycles murdered a couple in KATSINA ALA LGA, BENUE State around 7.00am

Clashes between rival factions in a traditional leadership dispute groups in TUDUN ADABU, OBI LGA, NASARAWA State around 11.00am led to 10 killed and 15 houses burnt down

10 July

Chadian and Nigerien forces stated that Nigerian forces should occupy DAMASAK by Monday 13 July or they would withdraw

12 July

Gunmen attacked a prison in DIFFA, DIFFA Department, DIFFA Region, NIGER Republic with small arms around 1.00am killing one gendarme and losing 3 attackers in an attempted jail break. The 3 dead were reportedly wearing explosive belts

Several rockets were fired into FOTOKOL from GAMBORU NGALA, NGALA LGA, BORNO State killing at least 5 people including the local doctor and wounding several people

A female PBSIED detonated in a bar near a BIR camp in GARDOUMBA, FOTOKOL, EXTREME NORD Region, CAMEROUN around 6.00pm killing 16 people including 2 Chadian soldiers and wounding 7. A second female PBSIED detonated as soldiers responded to the attack causing no casualties

Gunmen attacked 2 villages in EXTREME NORD Region killing 12 people

13 July

The UN Population Fund (UNFPA) distributed 400 birth kits to IDPs in BORNO State

Approximately 15 gunmen mounted in a motorboat attacked TETEWA Island (80km north of N’DJAMENA), LAC Region CHAD in Lake CHAD killing 5 children in a Koranic school and their Malian teacher

14 July

Camerounian forces ambushed several gunmen in the vicinity of KERAWA, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region

Gunmen attacked ZELEVED, MAYO TSANAGA Department, EXTREME NORD Region, losing 2 killed

15 July

Gunmen attacked GAMGARA Village near BOSSO, DIFFA Department, DIFFA Region killing 16 people

Midjiyawa BAKARI Governor of EXTREME NORD Region has banned the hijab, motorcycles at night and tinted windows

16 July

Nigerien and Chadian forces began operations in the vicinity of MALAM FATORI and DAMASAK killing up to 32 suspected fighters and captured 3

The US Government is reportedly to provide equipment (unspecified) and training to NIGERIA and will reportedly deploy 2 x Cessna surveillance aircraft to NIGER Republic on an ISR tasking to the MNJTF. US Deputy Secretary of State Tony BLINKEN stated that President OBAMA has long seen NIGERIA as arguably the most important strategic country in sub Saharan Africa.

17 July

Gunmen attacked KOMGUIA, LAC Region CHAD losing 19 fighters and killing 2 Chadian soldiers

The South African government has reportedly returned the $15m cash seized last year
