Situation Friendly Forces

14 April

Col Sambo DASUKI (rtd) stated that all Boko Haram Camps would had been cleared except for in the SAMBISA Forest which would be cleared by 29 May

The NIGERIA Red Cross donated food, clothing, bedding and toiletries to at least 4,000 people from AMBIYA TASHA, AMBIYA KURA, SHARLIBRI, BULABULIN, TURO and SHANGAMARI Villages GUJBA LGA, YOBE State which was attacked on 26 March in an IDP Camp in DAMATURU, YOBE State YOBE State.

15 April

The Director Army Public Relations dispelled a rumour that the death sentences on mutinous soldiers had been commuted

The DSS reissued an alert for Rufai TSIGA (aka Dr TSIGA) a suspected leader of the April 2014 NYANYA bombing,

Situation Enemy Forces

15 April

Fighting between Fulani and Yoruba in ORO AGO Town, IFELODUN LGA, KWARA State leading to 2 dead and 4 wounded, 5 x vehicles and 10 x motorcycles burnt and the destruction of property. The incident was reportedly started by Fulani’s flouting a local rule that weapons cannot be brought into markets on ORO AGO Market Days

Gunmen attacked GWOZA, GWOZA LGA, BORNO State slitting the throats of 12 people who were waiting for the military to evacuate them from the hills surrounding the team

17 April

The Ologba and Egba communities of AGATU, AGATU LGA, BENUE State engaged in a clash over fish ponds resulting in the death of up to 23 people. The clash was caused by a dispute over a fish pond exacerbated by suspicions of the Egba’s that the Ologba’s had colluded in a Fulani attack in March 2015. IDPs are sheltering in OGBAGAJI, AGATU LGA

18 April

Further fighting between the Ologba and Egba people led to further deaths when the Egba reportedly attacked an Ologba funeral procession

Situation External Forces

14 April

A delegation from the Russian Federal Service of Technical and Military Cooperation led by Gen. Anatoly PUNCHUK met the Camerounian Defence Minister Edgard Alain Mebe NGO’O and CDS Lt Gen Rene Claude MEKA to offer military equipment, training and humanitarian assistance.

15 April

RUSSIA and CAMEROUN signed a Defence Cooperation Agreement to provide training, military equipment and humanitarian assistance

16 April

President JONATHAN met the UN Special Representative for WEST AFRICA Mohamed Ibn CHAMBAS to discuss UN actions. The President reportedly advocated a Chapter 8 intervention supporting regional bodies rather than a Chapter 7

Gunmen attacked AMCHIDE, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region, burning several houses

17 April

Gunmen mounted on motorcycles attacked BIA 1 and BIA 2 Villages, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region, CAMEROUN killing at least 19 people and stealing livestock. Camerounian forces claim to have killed 6 attackers and recovered the livestock as the gunmen retreated towards NIGERIA
