Nigerian forces supported by the NAF cleared enemy positions in ALAGARNO Forest in KAGA and DAMBOA LGA, BORNO State capturing armoured vehicles, weapons (types and quantities not specified), ammunition (types and quantities not specified), computers, generators, IEDs and IED components, bows and arrows, megaphones, and hand grenades. The camps were allegedly named FALLUJA and TIMBUKTU.

08 April

Mike OMERI Coordinator National Information Centre stated that there was no evidence the GSS CHIBOK abductees had been murdered by Boko Haram

09 April

The Security forces have detained Mohammed ZANGINA (aka Alhaji MUSA) in GRA, MAIDUGURI, BORNO State who is alleged to be a member of the Boko Haram Shura Council is suspected of coordinating bombings in ABUJA, KADUNA, KANO, JOS and POTISKUM. He had a bounty of N25m on his head.

10 April

The Inspector General of Police has ordered a nationwide restriction on vehicular movement from 8.00am to 5.00pm on Saturday 11 April

Elements of 3 Div and 7 Div supported by the NAF captured YAMTEKE and UBA Towns, ASKIRA UBA LGA and BITA and IZGE, DAMBOA LGA, BORNO State. 1 soldier was killed and 10 injured

The NAF has begun providing free healthcare to IDPs in 3 camps in the FEDERAL CAPITAL TERRITORY.

The NPF in ADAMAWA State have imposed a curfew from 6.00pm to 6.00am on Saturday 11 April as well as a total Keke Napep Tricycles

11 April

4 people were reportedly shot by soldiers at BAYAN DUTSE Polling Unit, GINGA Ward, SURU LGA, KEBBI State during the accreditation process

NAF Alphajets reportedly conducted air strikes against enemy vehicles and positions in the approaches to the MANDARA Mountains

Situation Enemy Forces

05 April

2 x PBSIED were identified in BIU, BIU LGA, BORNO State before they could detonate their devices, the first was apprehended around 2.00pm as he tried to enter a crowded mosque, he aroused suspicion when the satellite decoder box he was carrying appeared unusually heavy. He tried to escape and died in the process of apprehension. The second suspect was apprehended as he tried to board a bus in BIU Motor Park also carrying a satellite decoder box he was detained and handed over to the military.

Approximately 20 gunmen mounted on 2 x Toyota Hilux and 5 x motorcycles attacked KWAJAFA, HAWUL LGA with small arms and IEDs around 8.00pm murdering at least 24 civilians. The gunmen gathered local people together claiming they wished to preach and then opened fire. The gunmen burnt several properties and retreated when troops arrived

06 April

Gunmen mounted in cars and pickup trucks attacked NEW MARTE, MARTE LGA, BORNO state with small arms and IEDs. The attack was initiated by a VBIED contained in a VW Golf which rammed an APC causing casualties.

08 April

4 x gunmen abducted the District Head of WAMAKKO, Alhaji Salisu BARADE and an associate Alhaji Ango GARBA from his farm in MAJIYA, WAMAKKO LGA, SOKOTO State around 8.00pm, he was taken away in a green VM Golf

10 April

Alhaji Ango GARBA was released without ransom in WALIJAM Forest in the vicinity of GWANDU, GWANDU LGA, KEBBI State. Alhaji BARADE was released later near the Emir of GUMMI’s farm in ZAMFARA State, it is not clear if ransom was paid.

Gunmen attacked the INEC Office in UGBA Town LOGO LGA, BENUE State, burning it killing a security staff and critically injuring another. The BENUE State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Professor Istafanus DAFUANG stated that 26 card readers were destroyed in GUMA LGA and 24 Polling units were vandalised with electoral materials and result sheets damaged after a peaceful accreditation process.

11 April

Gunmen mounted in vehicles attacked DILE, ASKIRA UBA LGA, BORNO State around 2.00am killing 20 people and burning properties

Gunmen attacked BURATAI Village, BIU LGA, BORNO State killing 2 and injuring 3 people

02 April

Gunmen ambushed travellers on their way to market in TCHOUKOU TELIA, BAGA SOLA Prefecture, LAC Region, CHAD in the vicinity of Lake CHAD murdering 7 with small arms and bladed weapons. Several IEDs were then laid on the road between TCHOUKOU TELIA and NGOUBOUA

Camerounian President Paul BIYA signed a decree authorising the award of gallantry medals to members of Camerounian forces fighting in EXTREME NORD Region

05 April

Camerounian media reports that several dozen Nigerian soldiers have occupied KERAWA Village, MAYO SAVA Department, EXTREME NORD Region. The reason for their presence is not known

07 April

The Governor of EXTREME NORD Region, CAMEROUN, Midjiyawa BAKARI stated that Boko Haram had been raiding border villages for food and livestock, forcing people to relocate inland

08 April

A 2 day summit of ECCAS and ECOWAS began in MALABO, EQUATORIAL GUINEA, with Defence and Foreign Affairs Ministers of member states planning a common strategy to eradicate Boko Haram as a follow up to the Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Defence and Peace Council for Central Africa (COPAX) held in YAOUNDE, CAMEROUN in February 2015

The Italian Foreign Minister Paolo GENTILONI stated ITALY may consider assisting the fight against Boko Haram, he emphasised that they would not be in combat

The LITTORAL Region, CAMEROUN has raised 349m CFA Francs from the business community and public and donated it to the Security Forces to fight Boko Haram

10 April

The UN has launched a $174m appeal for life saving aid for 200,000 Nigerian victims of Boko Haram

11 April
