The NPF searched a property belonging to an Islamic sect in KWANAR FARAKWAI, IGABI LGA, KADUNA State seizing arrows, knives, a double barrel shotgun, ammunition (type unspecified) and amulets. The Village Head stated the sect leader had come from BIRNIN YERO in 2001 after being banished for his bizarre beliefs. They came to Police attention after a young al majiri escaped and complained of being chained up and being used for livestock theft the NPF detained 6 people including the sect leaders son and his deputy, the leader Malam Usman YAKUBU (42) fled.

23 February

DHQ stated that air strikes against GWOZA, GWOZA LGA were ongoing

President Goodluck JONATHAN met with Teodoro Obiang NGUEMA of EQUATORIAL GUINEA and Denis SASSOU-N’GUESSO of CONGO-BRAZZAVILLE for a 3 hour closed door meeting at the Presidential Wing of NNAMDI AZIKIWE International Airport, ABUJA, FCT. The leaders proposed a joint summit of ECCAS and ECOWAS to further mobilise support for the MJNTF

26 February

President Goodluck JONATHAN visited MUBI, MUBI NORTH LGA, ADAMAWA State and BAGA, KUKUWA LGA, BORNO State.

27 February

Nigerian forces liberated BARA, GULANI LGA, YOBE State and GULAK, MADAGALI LGA, ADAMAWA State. SHIKAH, FIKAYEL, TETEBAH, BUZA, KAMLA and BUMSA were also cleared. Arms and ammunition captured include AAA guns, GPMGs, IEDs Multi barrel grenade launchers and ammunition.

The DSS has warned that there is an increased likelihood of attacks against soft targets and civilians.

28 February

A large number of Nigerians attended the #MarchForOurTroops Rally in ABUJA, FCT. Organised by the Support Our Troops Foundation, ended up at DHQ where Army spokesman Gen OLUKOLADE addressed the crowd.

Gunmen attacked NGELZARMA, FUNE, LGA, YOBE State around 4.00am burning a military post, some shops and a trailer filled with grain and injuring 4.

22 February

A female PBSIED detonated at GSM Market, POTISKUM, YOBE State killing 6 and wounding 46 people. The young girl who appeared to be around 10 had been sent away several times as the market is now barred to females due to incessant attacks, but snuck under a rope to get into the market

A female PBSIED detonated at the KASUWAN JAGWAL (GSM) Market, along MUHAMMED IDRISS Way, POTISKUM, YOBE State around 1.20pm killing 8 and injuring 19 people. The bomber was reputedly appeared between 7-10 years old

23 February

5 x gunmen abducted a female US missionary Rev Phyllis SORTOR from Hope Academy, EMIWORO, AJAOKUTA LGA, KOGI State around 10.00am

24 February

2 x teenage male PBSIEDs detonated in KANO Line Motor Park, KOFAR NASARAWA, KANO City, KANO State around 3.00pm as they got off a bus killing 34 people.

A male PBSIED detonated at TASHAN DAN BORNO Motor Park, KANO Road, POTISKUM, YOBE State around 11.45am killing at least 17 people and injuring 53

26 February

1 x male PBSIED detonated at a CJTF checkpoint in TASHAN GANDU Motor Park, MAIDUGURI Road, BIU, BIU LGA, BORNO State around 2.30pm killing 19 people and injuring 17. A secondary male PBSIED was shot as he attempted to detonate his device, which was defused by NPF Bomb Squad personnel.

An IED detonated at an informal market along BAUCHI Road in the vicinity of University of JOS, JOS, PLATEAU State, killing 9 people, another device detonated at BAUCHI Road Motor Park killing 6 people. The devices were reportedly thrown from a car

27 February

Gunmen engaged Nigerian troops carrying out a cordon and search operation on the DJIMTILO- DAMATURU Road, in the vicinity of MAINOK. Their house was burnt and several machine guns and rifles captured.  4 attackers were killed for the loss of 1 soldier was killed and another wounded,

Gunmen mounted on motorcycles and trucks attacked the market in MAINOK, KAGA LGA, BORNO State with small arms and IEDs killing 14 people and wounding others. Residents fled the town to JAKANA. Ground troops supported by 2 x aircraft repelled the attackers

28 February

A female PBSIEDs detonated her device around 11.30am after being denied access to a bus heading to DAMATURU at NGAMDU, KAGA LGA, YOBE State killing 4 people. The woman was escorted by another female who was also one of those killed.

Gunmen attempting to blow up a bridge in the vicinity of GULAK, MADAGALI LGA were defeated by Nigerian forces, with casualties.

MAROUA Central Prison Registrar stated that 8,000 people have been detained in CAMEROUN’s 25 prisons since May 2014

The Chadian Armed forces claim to have killed 207 Boko Haram fighters, destroyd 13 x pick ups and dozns of motorcycles and captured a tank, 2 x mortars, 2 x pickup trucks and assorted weapons and ammunition in fighting in the vicinity of GAMBORU NGALA, NGALA LGA, BORNO State the cost of 1 killed and 9 wounded.

An explosive device (thought to be a mine or victim operated IED) detonated killing 2 and wounding 4 Nigerien soldiers around 9.30am in BOSSO, DIFFA Department, DIFFA Prefecture, NIGER Republic.

The Nigerien Air Force attacked vehicles along the KAMADOUGOU YOBE River, DIFFA Prefecture on suspicion of being fish traders who paid tax to Boko Haram

25 February

Elements of BIR reacting to a threatened attack on AMCHIDE detonated an IED, destroying a vehicle, killing 2 x soldiers and injuring 7 on the MORA-LIMANI Road

The Canadian Department of National Defence states that members of the Canadian Special Operations Regiment (CSOR) taking part in Ex Flintlock, have been withdrawn from DIFFA, due to ground and indirect fire attacks from Boko Haram

French Ambassador to NIGERIA Jacques Champagne DE LABRIOLLE denied media reports that French nationals had been captured by Camerounian forces

2 x Nigerien civilians were killed when their horse drawn cart detonated an explosive device in DIFFA Prefecture, NIGER Republic.

28 February

The US Treasury Department has placed restrictive measures on 3 x Lebanese citizens and their businesses who were arrested for their ties to Hezbollah. The measures apply to Amigo Supermarket, Amusement Park and Holding Company as well as Mustapha FAWAZ, Fouzi FAWAZ and Abdalah TAHINI were described as Hezbollah’s Foreign Relations Department, who solicited and transmitted funds to the group. The FAWAZ brothers have Sierra Leonean, Lebanese and Nigerian citizenships.

The Chadian Director General of Military Intelligence Gen. Ismat Issaka ABDIGULED escorted 17 Nigerian soldiers for repatriation, after they crossed into CHAD.

The Camerounian President has announced a restructuring of their forces.  RTIA2 will have 21eme BRIM (Col Eyenga SEVERIM-BAMENDA), 22eme BRIM (Col Eyong Tambong JORDAN-BUEA), the Gendarmes will be commanded by Col Louba ZAL
